Okinoerabu-jima (Okinoerabu-jima, or Okierabu-jima) island is located in the southwestern part of the Amami Islands.
There belongs to Kagoshima Prefecture Oshima-gun.

Suso Ezoana Tomb was built in the middle of 7th century. Notjima Island, Noto Peninsula is located is located at the north west of Honshu facing the Sea of Japan.
Old Song of Hajichi ハジチ in Okinoebaru island 沖永良部島, Amami-Okinawa Archipelagos, Japan
Hajichi ハジチ is a tribal tattoo for Okinawan women only. But, amid the ongoing modernization and westernization of cultural and ethical system, in 1872, the Meiji Government prohibited all kind of tattoo by legal means till the post-war period of U.S. occupation in the late 1940s. With that as a cause, a remorseless societal prejudice that tattoos are for gang members or immoral customs is surviving. Actually, a tattooed person is refused to enter into a Japanese public bath, even now. Meanwhile, Japanese tribal tattoos of native Okinawan and Ainu are now going to revaluate as one of the symbols which validate uniqueness of cultures of Amami-Okinawa (southernmost archipelago) and Hokkaido (northernmost big island), through the advocacy by the scholars, social activists, and tattooists. This Hajichi song -- transcribed in Okinoerabu island, around 1929 -- was digitally reproduced based on a transcription score in the early Hajichi studies On Tattoos of Southern Islands 南嶋入墨考 written by Japanese folklorist Kazuo Obara 小原 一夫 in 1962. Unfortunately, I couldn't link melody with original lyrics, because of my poor achievement on the musical OCR software.

[空港探訪] 与論空港 YORON AIRPORT (鹿児島県 与論島 Yoron Island, Kagoshima, JAPAN)
鹿児島県の最南端「与論島」の与論空港の様子です。
空港は島の西部に位置し、さとうきび畑と青々とした草木に囲まれ、そして滑走路越しに海を見渡すことができる非常に美しい環境にある空港です。東・南の風(滑走路14)であれば海越しに着陸してくる様子が見られます。
就航エアラインは日本エアコミューターと琉球エアーコミューターの2社です(2011年10月現在)。鹿児島県内の空港からのフライトのほか、沖縄本島からも近いこともあり、那覇からの直行便によるアクセスも便利です。
ターミナル内には航空会社カウンターのほか、食堂や離着陸時間帯には売店もオープンします。食堂からは駐機場に駐機する航空機を目の前に見ることができます。
展望デッキはターミナル屋上にあり、屋外にある階段で上がります。階段前のゲートは隣接の空港管理事務所が管理していて、基本的には離着陸時間帯のみ開放との事でした。ゲートが閉まっている場合は一声掛けるとよいでしょう。
駐機場側フェンスは2メートルを超えるものが設置されていますが、金網の網目は比較的大きく、一般的なカメラの場合はレンズを出して写真撮影も可能です。動画の撮影ではどうしても金網の影が出来てしまい苦労しました。
空港周辺には滑走路を周回するように道路があり、空港を囲むフェンスも低く撮影環境としては良好です。晴れていればターミナルから徒歩で向かうことも問題ありません。
また滑走路の下には車やバスも走れる1車線のトンネルがある珍しい空港です。そのため滑走路の向こう側へもすぐにアクセス可能です(02:05手前中央フェンス下にトンネルの一部が見られます)。

5-day mission trip at Okinoerabujima.
- did prayer walks and declared the Word of God in many of the island's shrines and ports
- had fellowship with Okierabu Revival Church pastors and members
- had English Fun Time with some of the church's students and shared about Jesus
- distributed gospel tracks and did street evangelism to the island's locals

与論空港へ着陸する沖永良部空港発の日本エアコミューター(JAC) Saab 340B です。
滑走路方向320度に対し、風は約20度方向から約9ノットと、横風･クロスウインドでの着陸となり、機種を大きく風上に向けての着陸です。私の撮影位置の右側に滑走路がありますが、機首は私の左側に向けて着陸しているのが確認できます。
少し木陰に隠れてしまったのが残念ですが、このあとの撮影分は撮影場所を若干移動しました。

Mt.Sakurajima discouraged after eruption match with Okinoerabu Island (5 May 2015) W'ly wind,
Mt.Sakurajima hides himeself?
Mt. Sakurajima raised the smoke of 4,000-meter class twice on May 21.
Mt. Sakurajima might have been very proud of himeself because many TV channel widely broadcast eruptions.
However, new Shindake of Kuchinoerabu Island made BIGGER eruption on the morning of May 29th.
The height of smoke reached up to 9,000 meters. The eruption scale is double of Mt.Sakurajima.
It must be a shocking news for Mt.Sakurajima. He feels very shy and hides himself in clouds this morning.
Mt.Sakurajima recorded 600th eruption！
Despite of the shocking news of Shindake, Mt.Sakurajima recorded 606th eruption in 2015. The volcano has erupted 100 times a month. The eruption number will reach 1,200 at the end of 2015.
Active volcanic activity of Mt.Sakurajima gives me lots of energy, but I hope the volcano will not erupt much ash which had fallen on Kagoshima City.
Compare Shindake and Sakurajima
The height of Mt.Sakurajima is 1,117ｍ and that of Shindake is 626m. The crater of Mt.Sakurajima is 337m and that of Shindake is 200m. Mt.Sakurajima made first big eruption in history in 1468 while Shindake made it on 1841. So, Mt.Sakurajima is much bigger and senior than Shindake. If I was Mt.Sakurajima, I would feel as if the new university graduate suddenly becomes my boss! How embarrassing!
