Banten Lama merupakan sebuah situs yang menyimpan sejarah kejayaan Kesultanan Islam Banten. Disini Rudi didampingi seorang penggiat sejarah Banten yaitu Mang Obay Sobirin. Mereka menelusuri situs sejarah ini seperti situs Keraton Surosoan, Mesjid Agung Banten dan tak ketinggalan makan Rabeg khas Banten.
Sudut Kota adalah program serial televisi yang memberikan informasi tentang keragaman kebudayaan Indonesia. Pemirsa program ini adalah anak muda urban, khususnya di kota besar seperti Jakarta. Program Sudut Kota ini merupakan trendsetter dari program-program traveling sejenis yang lahir kemudian dan marak hingga kini. Pernah ditayangkan tahun 2002 - 2004 di Anteve dan Garuda TV (Belanda), program ini kemudian diadaptasi oleh beberapa program traveling yang ditayangakan di beragam TV Station, seperti Nikmatnya Dunia /. Nikmatnya Ramadhan yang ditayangkan di SCTV (host Fauzi Baadila, Denis Ardhiswara & Mario Irwinsyah) Keliling Betawi di LaTV (host Olivia Zalianty) dan sebagainya.

Melanjutkan penelusurannya di Banten Lama, Rudi bersama Kang Obay kali ini melihat situs Istana Kaibin, Benteng Speelwijk dan Klenteng Dewi Kwan Im atau Vihara Avalokitesvara.

Old Banten (Indonesian Banten Lama) is an archaeological site in the northern coast of Serang Regency, Banten, Indonesia. Located 11 km north of Serang city, the site of Old Banten contains the ruin of the walled port city of Banten, the 16th-century capital of the Sultanate of Banten.
Banten was a 16th-century port city known for its pepper. The city flourished when the Islamic Banten Sultanate reached its peak during the 17th century. There was a period of intense conflicts with the Dutch East India Company (VOC) over the trade of spices, which eventually led to the dissolution of the Sultanate in Banten and to the city's decline.
Today, the site where the city of Banten remains is known as Old Banten. It is a well-known tourist attraction, where many locals visit to pay their respects and pray at the graves of Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin and his descendants; or visits the Great Mosque. The area reflects the sultanate's earlier glory.
Notable buildings include the impressive Great Mosque of Banten, ruins of two important Kraton (palaces), the watch tower, the water systems and the artifacts at the Museum of Banten Artifacts.

Indonesia has a plural culture Country. Various people with different kind background, language, civilization, tribe, and belief. It makes Indonesia became beautiful country, i'll be proud of living in thiskind of country.
Once, we know Bali was the main point of view for foreign tourist. But, not only in Bali you can find paradise. I thought if you dont get lost in Indonesia, you will never know at all about Indonesia.
Banten is one of province in Indonesia who has vary of culture, some of us called Banten with Rhinos, because in this place we still found one-horned Rhinos, which is very very rare animal population in this world. Some other called Banten the city of magic Santet, but who knows in Banten also have at least ancient people, that we called Baduy People. They live far away from downtown, they down to earth, they dont use electricity, but they were so polite and shy of us, especially tourist.
You can find beaches, caves, islands, monument, and heritage place in Banten. So, keep exploring Indonesia, especially Banten for more and more, the more you goes, the more you explore!

Dengan ke solidan kami, makan kamipun mengadakan mini tour ke Banten. Dengan tema wara wiri maxi Jakarta. Kegiatan berjalan lancar dan menyenangkan, alhamdulillah cuaca sangat mendukung. Kamipun sempet main ke pantai dan kopdar bareng calon chapter maxi Banten. Antusias calon member sangat Bagus dengan semangat yg tinggi untuk mendirikan chapter baru di Cilegon.

Serang
The Gateway to the Spellbinding Wonders of Banten
Serang is the capital of Banten Province which formerly the administrative center of the broader Serang Regency, when Banten was still part of West Java. Serang is the center of the provincial government and business activities, and also the gate to some of the most spellbinding wonders of Banten that include the Ujung Kulon National Park, the Tanjung Lesung Resort, Sawarna Beach, and a whole lot more.
Serang was also known as the seat of the once thriving Islamic Banten Sultanate and was becoming a prominent trading center in Southeast Asia. Today, its glorious past still radiate from the site of the old capital known today as the Old Banten Complex. Among those still preserved in its authentic colonial architecture is the Pendopo Gubernur Banten (The Governor's Office of Banten).
Another historical account is the Port of Karangantu. The port was once abuzz with merchant ships from China, Arabia, Turkey, and other countries that regularly called on this port. Today, although the port has been reduced to just a small fishing town, nonetheless, it is the gateway to some of the most fascinating islands off the coast of Banten for those who enjoy fishing, snorkeling, and diving.
Get There
Situated about 90 km west from the capital city of Jakarta, Serang can be reached by a little over 2 hours drive on the Jakarta-Merak Toll Road. While the most convenient way to reach the city is by rental car, you can also take public buses form Jakarta's Kalideres Bus Station. Alternatively, you can also take the Train from Jakarta’s Tanah Abang Station and Kota Station to Serang Station. The route that passes Serang is served by Banten Express from Jakarta Kota station, the Patas Merak from Tanah Abang Station, and the Kalimaya Train also from Tanah Abang Station.
