Today we are in Peja Kosovo
We go on a day trip do some ministry in Peja and have to head home before it even begins. Doing our DTS outreach with kids has been a challenge, there is no doubt about it.
Follow us each week as we do our DTS at YWAM Grimerud. We are currently on our outreach phase in Kosovo for almost a month.

Kosovo: Peja/Peć to Pristina
Καθ' οδόν από το Pec στην Pristina.
In a shoemaker's shop in Peja / Peć
We are in a small shoemaker´s workshop in the bazaar in the town of Peć in western Kosovo.
Here´s a smell of leather, grated wood, glue, .. everywhere on nails and shelves hang and stand all kinds of things with in some cases the frailest of connection to shoes.
A cosy place. But more than that: It´s a relief to enter Darda´s workshop.
Old crafts are endangered but there ought to be not less but many more of this kind of shoemakers.

The majority of journalists around the world have chosen to develop their subject on controversial and sensational themes: violence, war, crime. But all these facts represent only 1% of our world and its inhabitants, forgetting the remaining 99% of which we never speak.
I chose to visit every country on the planet and film them to present them in High Definition format but in a raw way, without music, without comment. Simply, reality in all its truth. Thus, you will be able to make your own idea of the world in which you live.
Currently, I have already visited nearly 170 countries and my world tour continues thanks to you who follow me.

YUGOSLAVIA: KOSOVO: PEC: SERB HOUSES DESTROYED
Albanian/Nat
Despite the presence of K-FOR, houses continue to be set alight in Kosovo as returning ethnic Albanians take revenge on the Serb population of the province.
The return of some of the refugees also continues to lead them to awful revelations.
One family in Pec returned to their ruined house to find the body of a close relative in the rubble.
But hope, in the form of international aid, is being restored to the troubled region.
Houses are burning again in the town of Pec in western Kosovo.
But these buildings belong to Serbs rather than ethnic Albanians.
Many Serbs, who are suspicious of K-FOR and fear for their safety as Kosovo Albanians return, are leaving the town.
Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) soldiers look on as the houses burn.
Elsewhere in the town refugees continue to return to confront terrible scenes.
One family came back to the town after spending the conflict in Albania.
One elderly relative was too sick to make the trip and stayed behind.
When his relatives returned, they found his body among the rubble of their house.
SOUNDBITE: (Albanian)
We left for Albania because there were shelling in the area and my brother had to stay. When we returned, we found his body.

In the centre of the town, relief supplies from international aid agencies is beginning to filter through.
Bread and medical supplies from the United Nations was handed out in the town.
Trade is also beginning to grow again.
Fuel is in short supply and those who have it can charge high prices.
Much of the trade is done on the black market.
And as the transactions go on, K-FOR tanks continue to patrol the streets.

Focusing on crafts as cultural heritage
The European Union has supported the revitalization of Old Bazaars in Peja/Peć and Gjakova/Djakovica. The improved infrastructure now enables shops to benefits from newly paved streets, public lighting, and branding. Moreover, new centres of artisanship are working to keep the traditional crafts alive. They also are the source of developing touristic products which highlight cultural heritage as the main attraction.

My trip to Peć or Pejë Kosovo
While I lived in Kosovo I hopped in a vehicle and drove to Pea (Pec) Kosovo on the advice of a local. The drive was great and the people there were friendly and we all had a great time. I ate some local food and drove up into the mountain area. It was a memory I will have for the rest of my life. You can see more of the trip and a bunch of photos at wizardofwhere.com

KOSOVO: LOOTING OF SHOPS BECOMING WIDESPREAD
Natural Sound
Civilians are on the rampage in Pec and other parts of Kosovo, with the looting of shops now becoming widespread.
Disorder reigns in the town of Pec, despite the recent arrival of K-FOR troops.
As ethnic Albanians return to the town, Serbs leave in fear of retaliation, and Albanians take what they can.
Young and old were smashing the windows of shops and taking away whatever they wanted on Monday.
They may not look like criminals, but the conflict which reigned here over the past few months and the lack of order which followed on, has turned even the elderly and infirm into law-breakers.
Even bottled water is snatched by people in this area.
Some were carrying several boxes of food piled on top of each other.
This incident is not the first sign of disorder in Pec.
On Sunday Kosovo Liberation Army rebels commandeered a Serb-run grocery store, but Italian forces moved in with armoured vehicles, forcing the rebels to give up their weapons.
