No-one here remembers the Ladbroke holiday camp????Since my return in September 2015 I have stayed in 2 other b and b s on this road and each time make a visit to the old pubs around the harbour a priority.

Weymouth in the 1930s: The Story of Cosens
Fascinating 1930s archive footage of Cosens, once Weymouth's largest employers. Discover why Cosens' divers used to smoke fags before descending, how much the company paid for Weymouth's old lifeboat and how workers used to carry meat through the streets. This short film was first put together when the historian Richard Clammer published the second of his two excellent books on Cosens of Weymouth, the first covering the period 1918-1996, the second 1848-1918. It's put on YouTube now to celebrate the news that Dorset History Centre has been given a grant to catalogue Cosens' records, donated to the centre by Mr Clammer. Archive footage is used with the kind permission of the extraordinarily knowledgeable and hard-working Weymouth transport historian Brian Jackson, the author of many books on Dorset, Somerset and Hampshire rail and bus services. Why Mr Jackson has never been given an honour for his services to local life, I do not know. I can think of no one who deserves a medal more. Anyway, for more on Cosens see

Weymouth #SeafoodFestival 2012 - viewed by #AaranHouse
The 5th and biggest Seafood Festival in Weymouth - more stalls, more great food and over 50,000 visitors enjoyed a rare hot and sunny day (saturday was washed out but today 8th July was excellent). Both sides of the Harbour were filled with enticing smells and tastes and for the first time, the Pavilion car park was utilised as well. TV Chefs Mark Hix, Leslie Waters and Ashley Palmer Watts were present and performing master-class demonstrations during the day - aaranhouse.co.uk

Maiden Street toilets, Weymouth, Dorset HLC
Housed in an 17th centaury building, unusual for toilets, the inside is not so interesting. It is clear at one time there would have been a HLC in here but a recent refurb is now LLC.
