ABOUT POETRY OUT LOUD:
Recitation and performance are major new trends in poetry. There has been a recent resurgence of poetry as an oral art form, as seen in the slam poetry movement and the immense popularity of hip-hop music. Poetry Out Loud builds on that momentum by inviting the dynamic aspects of slam poetry, spoken word and theater into the English class. The National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation have partnered with the Utah Arts & Museums Literature Program to support the expansion of Poetry Out Loud, which encourages Utah's youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance.

Belmont University Chorale in Venice, Old Time Religion
Belmont University Chorale visiting Venice and performing at the Chiesa Di San Salvador in Venice Italy under the direction of maestro Dr. Jeffery Ames. We were visiting Venice and had just seen I Musici Veneziani: Baroque and Opera at the beautiful Sculo Grande di San Teodoro. Upon exiting into the Campo we heard this beautiful music coming from the Church across the square. We were drawn into the church only to hear the end of this beautiful concert by our hometown Belmont University Chorale. What a blessing we almost missed.
