Old Medina - Casablanca, Morocco
While traveling through Morocco, David spends some time in the city of Casablanca. It is here where he visits one of the city's districts known as Old Medina. This area dates back three hundreds years, in 1755 it was destroyed by and earthquake and later rebuilt in the 1770's. Today it is one of Casablanca's most vibrant and friendly areas.

Old Medina souk and street market in Casablanca
Folks of Casablanca gather and clean up outside the mosque before they go and offer prayers in the mosque. The old Medina Souk in Casablanca is full of colourful handmade products.
Morocco is famed for its dark, fragrant medinas overflowing with spices, handmade products and traditional pastries. Casablanca's old medina is a far cry from the ancient winding souks of Marrakech, but it's full of interesting stalls selling trinkets and fresh food, and far less touristy.

Ancient Medina of Casablanca
Casablanca, Morocco 2017
Medina Casablanca | Old Medina | Marocco world traveler
Lugares a visitar:
Parque da Liga Árabe e Parque Yasmina;
Museu da Villa des Arts;
Bairro dos Habbous (الحبوس) ou Nova Medina com lojas de artesanato;
Praça Mohammed V: em redor da praça desenvolve-se a wilaya de Casablanca com o campanário de inspiração toscana e o Palácio da Justiça de inspiração árabe-andaluza e uma grande fonte ;
A grande Mesquita Hassan II, construída entre 1986 e 1993. Célebre pelo grande minarete de 200 m, e, depois das mesquitas de Meca e de Medina, a terceira maior do mundo;
A antiga Catedral do Sagrado Coração de Casablanca;
A antiga medina (Bab Marrakech);
As numerosas fachadas « Art déco », em especial ao longo da avenida Mohammed V, boulevard 11 janvier, etc.;
O mercado central;
A estrada marginal e as praias (Aïn Diab);
O marabout de Sidi Abderrahman;
Derb Ghallef: uma grande feira da ladra, uma espécie de mercado que lembra as histórias de Ali Baba, ao ar livre;
Twin Center Casablanca : duas torres gémeas de 28 pisos com 115 m de altura e com um centro comercial de 130 lojas em 3 pisos, em pleno Maarif, o bairro comercial de Casablanca;
Megarama:, complexo de cinemas;
Festival du Boulevard des jeunes musiciens: festival de musique anual à Casablanca;
Festival de Casablanca: festival anual organizado pelo município.
Casablanca MOROCCO (Where on Earth is Rinell?)
Where on earth is Rinell?
Today Casablanca is a large, modern city, but the former French colonial post still allows myriad movie moments for those who want to revisit love in the medina and Old City. Casa (as locals call it) isn't too touristy, but it's the most cosmopolitan and Western-feeling city in Morocco. Visit The King Hassan II Mosque and Casa's Medina. .

Old Medina Clock Tower and souk in Casablanca
Marking the busiest entrance to the old medina, this 20m-tall clock tower is one of the most recognisable landmarks in downtown Casablanca. The current tower is a 1993 reproduction of the original 1911 structure, which fell into disrepair and was dismantled around 1950.
The crooked lanes, occasional tree-shaded square and well-frequented local cafes contribute to a generally pleasant atmosphere and make it a popular route for those walking between downtown Casablanca and the Hassan II Mosque.

Casablanca - Morocco | Street and City Life in Casablanca
Casablanca (Arabic: الدار البيضاء, translit. ad-dār al-bayḍāʾ; Berber languages: ⴰⵏⴼⴰ, translit. anfa; local informal name: Kaẓa), located in the central-western part of Morocco and bordering the Atlantic Ocean, is the largest city in Morocco. It is also the largest city in the Maghreb region, as well as one of the largest and most important cities in Africa, both economically and demographically.
Casablanca is Morocco's chief port and one of the largest financial centers on the continent. According to the 2014 population estimate, the city has a population of about 3.35 million in the urban area and over 6.8 million in the Casablanca-Settat region. Casablanca is considered the economic and business center of Morocco, although the national political capital is Rabat.
The leading Moroccan companies and international corporations doing business in the country have their headquarters and main industrial facilities in Casablanca. Recent industrial statistics show Casablanca retains its historical position as the main industrial zone of the country. The Port of Casablanca is one of the largest artificial ports in the world, and the second largest port of North Africa, after Tanger-Med 40 km (25 mi) east of Tangier. Casablanca also hosts the primary naval base for the Royal Moroccan Navy.
The original name of Casablanca was Anfa, in Berber language, by at least the seventh century BC.[citation needed] After the Portuguese took control of the city in the 15th century AD, they rebuilt it, changing the name to Casa Branca ([kazɐ'bɾɐ̃kɐ]). It derives from the Portuguese word combination meaning White House (branca white, casa house). The present name, which is the Spanish version (pronounced [kasaˈβlaŋka]), came when the Portuguese kingdom was integrated in personal union to the Spanish kingdom. During the French protectorate in Morocco, the name remained Casablanca (pronounced [kazablɑ̃ka]). In 1755 an earthquake destroyed most of the town. It was rebuilt by the Sultan who changed the name into the local Arabic which is Ad-dar Al Baidaa', although Arabic also has its own version of Casablanca (كازابلانكا, Kāzāblānkā). The city is still nicknamed Casa by many locals and outsiders to the city. In many other cities with a different dialect, it is called Ad-dar Al-Bida, instead.
Casablanca is located in the Chawiya Plain which has historically been the breadbasket of Morocco. Apart from the Atlantic coast, the Bouskoura forest is the only natural attraction in the city. The forest was planted in the 20th century and consists mostly of eucalyptus, palm, and pine trees. It is located halfway to the city's international airport.
The only watercourse in Casablanca is oued Bouskoura, a small seasonal creek that until 1912 reached the Atlantic Ocean near the actual port. Most of oued Bouskoura's bed has been covered due to urbanization and only the part south of El Jadida road can now be seen. The closest permanent river to Casablanca is Oum Rabia, 70 km (43.50 mi) to the south-east.

Walking Tour of Marrakech -- Morocco Old Medina Souk【4K】????????
Welcome to Marrakech, Morocco. A new Walking Tour of the Old Medina (Old City) and Main Square Djemaa El-Fna across of endless labyrinths of souks. In 4K by Wanna Walk
The common English spelling is Marrakesh and Marrakech in French is also widely used. I was told that the name Marrakech comes from the words amur kush which means The Land of God. This is the third largest city in Morocco with less population than Casablanca and Fez. The city lies near of the Atlas Mountains and it's pretty close to the Sahara Desert.
There are two very distinctive areas in Marrakesh: one is the Old Medina (old city) and the new Marrakesh, which is a kinda European style district called Ville Nouvelle or Gueliz. If you wanna walk, everything in the Old Medina can be seen on foot. A GPS is key because it's a laberintic area and you may not want to constantly ask for help to locals.

Walking around the souks will take you many hours as well as several historical and architectural places and some interesting museums.
What is Jemaa el-Fnaa? It’s a very popular square market in Marrakesh, medina quarter, Morocco. Also called Jemaa el-Fnaa (Arabic: ساحة جامع الفناء and Jemaa el-Fna, Djema el-Fna or Djemaa el-Fnaa) square and market.

What to see? The square of Djemaa El-Fna is very popular, in particular in the Marrakech's night. This place offers musicians, story tellers, drum beats, food, fruit juices, things like that. There are also some insisting Arab women wanting to give you a henna tattoo. I strongly recommend to totally ignore anyone who offers you something like a photo with a poor monkey or a snake over your shoulder.
