The plan is to increase pumping at this well, destroying the geyser, springs, and biotic communities associated with them.
Not to mention you will no longer be able to get a 104F soak at the nearby hot springs resort after these projects are undertaken, either.

4 eruptions on June 15, 2012. This was less than a week before the geyser stopped erupting and the water level in the pond declined. This was months before the geyser casing was removed, shortened, and rebuilt and grouted in the fall of 2012.

Lakeview, Oregon
Lakeview is a town in Lake County, Oregon, United States. The population was 2,294 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Lake County. The city bills itself as the Tallest Town in Oregon because of its elevation. Lakeview is situated in the Goose Lake Valley at the foot of the Warner Mountains and at the edge of Oregon's high desert country. Its economy is based on agriculture, lumber production, and government activities. In addition, tourism is an increasingly important part of the city's economy. Oregon's Outback Scenic Byway passes through Lakeview.
Native Americans may have occupied the area around Lakeview for as much as 14,000 years, as evidenced by artifacts found in the Paisley Caves north of Lakeview. When the first white explorers came through the Goose Lake Valley, Shoshone speaking people were living in the area.
In 1827, Peter Skene Ogden led a brigade of Hudson's Bay Company trappers through the Goose Lake Valley. He was followed in 1832 by John Work and his trappers. Work noted the hot springs north Goose Lake (now called Hunter's Hot Springs) in his journal. The hot springs are approximately north the Lakeview town site.
In 1867 and 1868, General George Crook led United States Army units and Indian scouts from the Wasco and Warm Springs tribes in a successful campaign against Northern Paiute bands in Eastern Oregon and northern California. This was part of the conflict known as the Snake War. Crook used Camp Warner as his supply depot and administrative headquarters. The camp was abandoned in 1874. Camp Warner was located northeast of the site that is now Lakeview.
In 1869, M. W. Bullard settled along Bullard Creek at the mouth of Bullard Canyon at the northern end of the Goose Lake Valley. This is the location that eventually became the town of Lakeview. William Heryford brought cattle into the Goose Lake Valley in 1872. In 1873, ...

Klamath Falls to Lakeview Oregon Route 140 Driving through Fremont Winema National Forest
The Fremont National Forest was a United States National Forest located in western Lake and eastern Klamath counties in Oregon. In 2002, the forest was merged with the Winema National Forest to form the Fremont–Winema National Forest.

Founded in 1908, the Fremont National Forest was originally protected as the Goose Lake Forest Reserve in 1906. The name was soon changed to Fremont National Forest, named after John C. Frémont, who explored the area for the United States Army Corps of Engineers in 1843. It absorbed part of Paulina National Forest on July 19, 1915. In 2002, it was administratively combined with the Winema National Forest as the Fremont–Winema National Forests.[1]
The Fremont–Winema National Forest is a United States National Forest formed from the 2002 merger of the Fremont and Winema National Forests. They cover territory in southern Oregon from the crest of the Cascade Range on the west past the city of Lakeview to the east. The northern end of the forests is bounded by U.S. Route 97 on the west and Oregon Route 31 on the east. To the south, the state border with California forms the boundary of the forests. Klamath Falls is the only city of significant size in the vicinity. The forests are managed by the United States Forest Service, and the national forest headquarters are located in Lakeview.
Oregon Route 140 is an Oregon state highway that serves the southern portion of the state. It runs from the community of White City, Oregon (just north of Medford), through Klamath Falls and on to Lakeview. It then continues east, eventually descending into the state of Nevada.
Oregon Route 140 begins in White City at a junction with Oregon Route 62 (which runs between Medford and Crater Lake National Park). Oregon Route 140 is the primary connection between Medford and Klamath Falls. The stretch of OR 140 between the two cities is known as the Lake of the Woods Highway No. 270 (see Oregon highways and routes), as it passes by the scenic Lake of the Woods and Mount McLoughlin in the Sky Lakes Wilderness. It then runs along the southwestern shore of Upper Klamath Lake, where it is part of the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway. Upon entering the Klamath Falls area, it joins together with Oregon Route 66 (which runs between Klamath Falls and Ashland) on the Green Springs Highway No. 21, and the two highways soon intersect with U.S. Route 97 at a freeway interchange.
Oregon Route 140 meets Nevada Route 140
OR 140 continues east of here, on an alignment known either as the South Klamath Falls Highway No. 424 or the Southside Bypass. Southeast of town, OR 140 intersects with Oregon Route 39, heads north on a shared alignment for about two miles (3 km), on the Klamath Falls-Malin Highway No. 50, and then continues east towards Lakeview on the Klamath Falls-Lakeview Highway No. 20.
In Lakeview, the highway meets U.S. Route 395 on the Fremont Highway No. 19 and runs concurrently with it north for 4.6 miles (7.4 km). Then it heads east as Warner Highway No. 431, skirting the south end of Warner Valley and traversing the Doherty Slide before reaching the Nevada state line, where it becomes Nevada State Route 140.

Equally impressive, though, is the zoo's major art collection, which is one of the largest among zoos in the United States. A recent addition to that collection is a geyser exhibit, which is located at the zoo's prairie habitat. Closely modeled on the geysers seen at Yellowstone National Park, this one sends blasts of water more than 20 feet into the air every five minutes.
