The English countryside is dotted with amazing and historic castle ruins, and Old Wardour Castle in the county of Wiltshire, England is no exception. Standing four stories tall, with half of the castle blown away by a previous owner, Old Wardour Castle definitely has some stories to tell. While staying with friends in Shaftesbury, England I had the chance to visit this majestic ruin and climb right to the very top.
Join Marti from Down the Wrabbit Hole Travel as she and her friend Emily explore the castle grounds, the ruins, and the out-buildings surrounding Old Wardour Castle. For more information on the castle's tragic history and its structure, visit Marti's blog and read the post at:

Old Wardour Castle Grotto / Tisbury Stone Circle Remains
The marvelous grotto at Old Wardour Castle. Some stones of this were taken from a Stone Circle at Tisbury. We found this out after our first visit. Although somewhat horrifying in some ways, it added a lot to the perception of the place as somewhere magical and curious.
