Myself, my brother and our best mate Sayf, decided to go on an adventure to the Dandenong ranges anf find some waterfalls, we found one, but it was a little smaller than we expected. apologies for the low quality drone footage! we shot at 1080p 48fps on the mavic and it sucked, i recommend shooting the lowest frame rate possible on the mavic and at least 2k resolution for great quality!

Olinda Falls, Victoria, Australia - A Day Trip From Melbourne for everybody (and families)
Olinda Falls in the Dandenong Ranges is about one hour's drive from Melbourne. Wonderful for a family day trip from Melbourne. The falls are a short shady walk under the cool rain forest canopy.
It is an easy 800 metre walk for families with small children. It is a beautiful green walk to the falls but, let's face it, they're not the most spectacular falls in the world. Iguazu should feel pretty safe with its mantle as one of the world's most scenic falls. Even Turpins Falls, check out last video, north of Melbourne makes this one look little more than a splash and trickle.
However as a destination for a bush walk and to get a taste of the great Aussie bush it is a day well spent. Because of its accessibility from Melbourne the lower reaches of the Dandenong Ranges National Park can overflow with visitors so just keep driving for a few minutes more to get to the Olinda Falls reserve. It won't be anywhere near as crowded and you will be rewarded with seeing some of the largest trees in the world - the mountain ash.

Olinda Falls in the Dandenongs Australia
On my last bike ride for 2011, on 31st December, I rode up the Dandenongs, in the state of Victoria, Australia, and turned from the Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd onto Falls Rd, then visited Olinda Falls Reserve. This is a very picturesque, hidden gem in the Dandenongs, and definitely worth a visit.

The Dandenong Ranges National Park is a national park located in the Greater Melbourne region of Victoria, Australia. The 3,540-hectare (8,700-acre) national park is situated from 31 kilometres (19 mi) at its westernmost points at Ferntree Gully and Boronia to 45 kilometres (28 mi) at it easternmost point at Silvan, east of the Melbourne City Centre. Home to Echidna, one of the only two living mammals that lay eggs.

Had to get my car serviced at Mazda, i got a CX-3 as a loan car and took it for a road test up the Dandenong Ranges.
I wanted to do a full review, that didnt happen lol, thus it was a fun car to drive and was overall a good ride, personally, i wouldn't buy one. id buy a CX-5 GT though,, they just the right size.
So instead of the review i ended up at Olinda Falls, Dandenong Ranges, Victoria, Melbourne, Australia.
Its a casual walk and a nice area.. But coming back up lol,,,, not so much.

This is such a beautiful little walk in Mount Dandenong area called OLINDA FALL, perfect for a nice picnic, great day out for short little walk. I loved it, My beautiful friend Pearl took me here. definitely I will visit again.
Its about 49km away from Melbourne city.

Olinda Falls in the Dandenong Ranges between Kalorama and Olinda in the Olinda State Forest, including part of the track to the falls and the steel footbridge at the falls. This video was taken in late Winter when the falls were flowing strongly but not in flood.

Olinda to The Basin, in the Dandenongs
My last bike ride for 2011, on 31st December.
I rode various parts of the Dandenongs, in the state of Victoria in Australia, then used the helmet camera to record my descent from Olinda (approx. 550m elevation) to The Basin (approx. 170m). The late morning sunlight filtering through the trees was quite pleasant, although the helmet camera had trouble adjusting the light balance because of it.
I saw numerous other cyclists out today, as it was a Saturday morning and a holiday period for many.
