Germany: Shooting spree in Munich's Olympia shopping mall kills at least 3
At least three people have been confirmed dead and several injured by the German Interior Ministry as a major police operation is ongoing in Munich, Friday, after a shooting spree at the Olympia Einkaufszentrum shopping Mall.
A police operation in underway in the Moosach district of Munich. The mall has been evacuated and the surrounding areas have been sealed off by authorities. Local media has reported that six people have been killed in the McDonalds restaurant inside the mall complex.
The German Interior Ministry confirmed that at least three people have been killed and many injured, although rumours of several other shootings in the city have been dismissed by local police. Reports of three separate shooters are as of yet unconfirmed by police.
Authorities have asked the public to stay clear of public areas and public transport has been suspended.

(23 Jul 2016) A strong police presence and cordon remained in place outside the Olympia Einkaufszentrum shopping mall in Munich on Saturday following a deadly attack the previous evening .
Officials say an 18-year-old German-Iranian man opened fire at the mall and at a nearby McDonalds killing nine people before killing himself.
Sixteen people were injured, three critically, according to authorities.
The city went into lockdown and a manhunt was launched following reports that up to three gunman had been involved in the attack.
Police later confirmed that the gunman had acted alone and have said his motive for the attack remains unclear.

Several Are Reported Dead After A Shooting At A Munich Shopping Center
Ten people are dead and 10 others injured after a shooting at a shopping center in Germany.
The shooting happened about 6 p.m. local time at the Olympia shopping center in Munich. Police say the shooter killed at least nine people before turning the gun on himself.
Facebook activated its Safety Check feature, allowing those in Munich to tell family and friends they are safe.
Special forces from neighboring states and the German federal police responded to Munich to help with the investigation.

Initially, police were looking for three suspects. Public transportation was shut down during the manhunt. Eventually, investigators determined it was just one shooter, an 18-year-old German-Iranian who had lived in Munich for a long time.
At a press conference Friday evening, police said the motive for the attack was unclear.

Germany: Shops reopen at site of Munich mall shooting
Shops around the Olympia Park Shopping Centre in Munich reopened on Monday, following Friday’s deadly shooting at the location. Flowers and candles were still covering the pavement outside the entrance to the mall, where a lone gunman killed 10 people before turning the gun on himself.
The attack started at the McDonald's outside the shopping centre before the shooter moved across the street and entered the mall where he continued his deadly rampage. Hundreds attended a vigil at the site on Sunday night.
