Greece - Land of Gods - Part II (Athens & Olympia)
So this was the second part of our Greek trip! Visiting the historic places of Olympia in Katakolon and Acropolis in Athens is quite amazing. Those places are very special and hold such an ancient history known by many people around the world! We were very excited and glad to have known them. Also made a short bus trip around the most important places in Athens. As well as with the other places, I wish we have had more time to watch more of them, but at least we got to see some things! There are also some scenes from Pireus where the cruise was.
PS: Sorry for the dirty lens on some shots, it's becoming one of the downsides of mirrorless cameras like the Sony A6000 that the sensor can easily pickup dust.

Vaso Petroyanni Mezzo soprano in Athens opera studio.mp4
The debut performance of the Athens Opera Studio, scheduled for April 14, is a major event expected to thrill classical music lovers in Greece. The performance, which will take place at the capital's Olympia Theater (59 Academias), will feature students enrolled in the new one-year program at the National Opera. Essentially, the performance will be an opportunity to showcase the results of this new experimental study program in an evening dedicated to scenes from 20th-century operas.
The Athens Opera Studio was established in order to nurture a new generation of professional artists and contribute to the high-level training of interpreters in a highly demanding field.
The program brings together experienced professors and choir leaders with established maestros and directors, all of whom are guiding the students in operatic roles.
Composer and music professor Nikos Vassiliou and male soprano Aris Christofellis are in charge of the educational program, while Anastasia Varelli is directing the upcoming performance, titled «Scenes from 20th-Century Operas.»
The performance, admission to which is free, includes works by Sergei Prokofiev, Franz Schreker, Maurice Ravel, Igor Stravinsky, Hans Werner Henze, Benjamin Britten and Aribert Reimann.
Besides the live stage performance, the Athens Opera Studio program of events further includes a series of seminars and lectures. Topics include stylistic analysis and the historical context of music material as well as an anatomical exploration of the vocal organ.

A two-hour drive from Athens brings you to one of the ancient world's most amazing structures: The Theatre of Epidavros. Built in 340 BC, this theatre is one of the best-preserved structures of its kind to date (still being used today) and can seat up to 13,000 people. In addition to its lasting construction and size, this theatre also boasts some outstanding acoustics, as David explains in the video. A combination of its size, acoustic foundations and ancient history make this one of the world's most amazing sites to visit, and one of the most popular day trips outside of Athens.
