OMEGA Museum in Biel: the OMEGA Watches' history
The OMEGA Museum in Biel was the first museum to be dedicated to a single Swiss watchmaker. Located opposite the company's headquarters, the museum features items representing OMEGA's long history, from the original bench on which Louis Brandt made his first watches over 160 years ago to a NASA lunar rover and the OMEGA watches worn on the Moon. Stop-motion photography is used to bring history to life through the luxury watches worn by US President John F. Kennedy or featured in major motion pictures. To allow more people to enjoy the displays, the Biel Museum now has longer opening hours, Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and for the first time, also on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The museum was opened to the public in January 1984 and is the oldest watch museum dedicated to the history of a single brand. Along with some 4000 watches, the remarkable collection includes movements, clocks, instruments, tools, photos, engravings, posters, signs, awards and certificates.

This video introduces the OMEGA Museum in Biel, the oldest dedicated to a single watch brand. Located just opposite the company's headquarters, it features items representing OMEGA's entire history, from the watchmaker's bench used by Louis Brandt when he began to make watches more than 160 years ago to a NASA lunar rover and watches that were worn on the Moon. Through the use of stop-motion photography, the displays, including watches worn by President John F. Kennedy and timepieces that were featured in major motion pictures, seem to come to life. To give even more people the chance to explore its treasures, the Museum has new opening hours. From Tuesday through Friday, it is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and for the first time, it is also open on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Das OMEGA Museum in Biel: die Geschichte einer Marke
In diesem Video wird das OMEGA Museum in Biel präsentiert. Es ist das älteste Museum, das einer einzigen Uhrenmarke gewidmet ist. Es liegt genau gegenüber dem Gesellschaftssitz des Unternehmens und verfügt über Ausstellungsstücke, die OMEGAS gesamte Geschichte dokumentieren, von dem Uhrmachertisch, an dem vor mehr als 160 Jahren von Louis Brandt Uhren gefertigt wurden, bis hin zu einem NASA-Mondauto und Uhren, die auf dem Mond getragen wurden. Durch den Einsatz der Stop-Motion-Technik, scheint es, als würden die Uhren, unter anderem die Uhr von Präsident John F. Kennendy und Zeitmesser aus großen Filmproduktionen, zum Leben erwachen. Damit noch mehr Menschen die Möglichkeit haben, seine Schätze zu erkunden, hat das Museum neue Öffnungszeiten. Dienstags bis freitags ist es von 10 bis 18 Uhr geöffnet, und von nun an auch samstags von 11 bis 17 Uhr.

OMEGA's Speedmaster family was on display at a special event the brand hosted at its newest flagship boutique in Paris. More than 30 timepieces from the OMEGA Museum in Bienne, Switzerland were part of the exhibition. OMEGA took time to explain the inspiration behind each piece and shared with guests the details of the brand's involvement with NASA and its role in space exploration.
