In this video, I want to share a compilation of cherry blossom moments I have captured with you. I was stunned by the beauty of the surreal sceneries, and my perception was being utterly satisfied. The footages are filmed during my five months exchange in Nagasaki, Japan. Here are the best hanami spots I would recommend :
- The Nagasaki Peace Park Heiwa Kōen
- Tateyama Park

The Omura Residence neighbors the Honhaga Residence and is one of Uchiko's oldest buildings, dating back to the end of the Edo Period. It is worth for seeing houses in old days. Although the Omura Residenceis not open to the public, it can be admired from the outside. There are three historic houses around here. One is Omura’s and the others Haga family’s.

Area guide
Uchiko's Old Town is located about one kilometer or a 15 minute walk from JR Uchiko Station. The preserved section of the town is about 600 meters long and consists of about 90 historical houses.
Uchiko's name became synonymous with high quality white wax production in the late 19th century. At that time, wealthy local merchants built new homes or added to their own, resulting in beautiful streets lined with large, stylish, Meiji Period houses. The Yokaichi district has since been restored to preserve these buildings.Yokaichi (八日市, Yōkaichi) is comprised of about 90 buildings along a single street. Two of these buildings are open to the public as museums, the largest and most impressive of which is the Kamihaga Residence. A combination ticket for Kamihaga Residence, the Uchiko-za kabuki theater and the Uchiko History Museum is sold for 900 yen from any of those locations.

S. Korea expresses regret over Japan's removal of 'comfort women' statue at int'l arts festival
South Korea expressed regret over the suspended display of a statue that represents the victims of Japan's wartime sexual slavery at its biggest international art festival.
Stressing that freedom of expression must be guaranteed,... Seoul's culture ministry called for normalization.
Kan Hyeong-woo has the full story.
The South Korean government expressed deep regret Monday over Japan's decision to remove from its biggest international art festival... a statue of a girl representing the victims of Japan's World War II-era sexual slavery.
The freedom of cultural and artistic creation and expression must be respected under all circumstances,... and we hope the removal of this work will be corrected quickly.
The spokesperson said the culture ministry plans to convey its position to the art festival's organizers.
The comfort women statue had been on display at the Aichi Triennale in central Japan since last Thursday... before being taken away on Saturday.
The festival organizers said the decision to suspend the display of the statue was based on terror threats by telephone and e-mail, but claimed it had nothing to do with earlier comments by Japanese officials... in which the mayor of Nagoya, Takashi Kawamura, publicly asked for the display to be taken down... while Japan's Chief Cabinet Secreatry, Yoshihide Suga, hinted at cutting the government's financial support for art festivals.
Asked on Monday if his comments led to the removal of the statue,... Suga said there was no pressure from the government.
Meanwhile... Japanese newspapers criticized the statue's removal.
The Asahi Shimbun said the officials' comments effectively violated freedom of expression and creation,... adding that terror threats are not acceptable.
The Tokyo Shimbun also reported on a statement from the Japan P.E.N. Club - a group of famous Japanese artists - calling for the statue's continued display.
Kan Hyeong-woo, Arirang News
Aichi Governor Hideaki Omura, held a press conference regarding the controversial decision.
Omura harshly criticized Nagoya Mayor Kawamura over his objection to the exhibit, saying such a move is very likely in violation of the Constitution.

Organizers of Japan's 'Aichi Triennale' art festival agree to reopen 'comfort women' exhibition
In August, Japan removed a statue that represents the victims of Japan's wartime sexual slavery from its biggest international art festival.... following orders handed down by Japanese officials.
Sixty-five days have passed since its removal, but from today, the statue is back in... and will stay there until the festival wraps up next Monday.
Won Jung-hwan reports.
Following threats from ultra-right Japanese protesters and pressure from the Japanese government,… the comfort women statue at the 2019 ( ) Aichi Triennale international contemporary art festival was pulled out just three days after the festival's opening.
But the exhibition starring the statue will resume from Tuesday and run through the end of the festival on October 14th.
The agreement to return the statue came during a hearing at the Nagoya District Court, held as part of mediation after a demand was filed in mid-September,… seeking a court injunction to reopen the collection.
Aichi Governor ( ) Hideaki Omura, who is also the chairman of the festival's organizing committee, agreed to four conditions as necessary for the reopening.
They include cooperating with security measures, implementing a pre-reservation system and limiting visitors to 30 people per time slot.
The exhibition will also need to provide visitors with an interim report on the background explaining the closure of the art show.
Upon hearing the news, Nagoya Mayor Takashi Kawamura criticized the agreement,… saying it was outrageous to showcase political works at an art festival hosted by the city and other public entities.
The mayor previously sparked outrage when he demanded the exhibition be shut down, arguing the statue could give the impression that Japan accepted South Korea's claim that the women were forcibly taken by the Japanese military during the war.
Ironically, two weeks ago, Japan's Cultural Affairs Agency withdrew a grant for the festival worth approximately 720-thousand U.S. dollars,… saying the Aichi government had failed to provide necessary information when applying for the subsidy.
The back and forth over the comfort women statue has been a sticking point in South Korea-Japan relations,... which have recently deteriorated to a low not seen in years due to disputes over trade and compensation for wartime forced labor.

Driving through a Hiroshima Neighborhood
The streets of Hiroshima are narrow, winding, and very hilly. This footage is of driving up to my host family's house after a day of running errands in Hiroshima. It's not as easy to tell through the camera, but you are definitely tossed around and people tend to blitz through areas faster than you would think is advisable. More like a roller coaster ride.

Wisata Jepang: Kediaman Kikuya, Prefektur Yamaguchi, Kota Hagi 034
Wisata Jepang: Rumah Pedagang Bersejarah yang Menarik Perhatian… Kediaman Kikuya, Prefektur Yamaguchi, Kota Hagi 34

The Phoenix of Japan, Hiroshima - Miyajima Island and the nuclear bomb museum
Hey guys!
This was almost my last day in beautiful Japan and probably one of the most interesting ones on every level. Hiroshima and the beautiful island of Miyajima are just gorgeous.
In this Island, you can find the famous shrine in the water and what I would say is probably one of the best oysters in the world :) they were so tasty hahaha I think everything in this island was delicious. For being this famous it was not that crowded and you can even do a hike to the top of the island. We didn’t do this because it was raining the whole time (like during the whole trip hehehe) but anyway it was fun.
Then we went to the Peace Memorial Park where you can visit the museum of the Hiroshima Bomb. Here you can read and check all the history about this tragic and sad moment that occurred in Hiroshima.
To me this was probably the most shocking part of all my trip, it’s just incredible how humanity can get to this extreme things and what impressed me the most is how Japan and the people in Hiroshima recovered after this, and I think this was possible because they shared the love and decided to be peaceful. And you can definitely see this on the people and in the city… what a great place to be.
This was pretty much it, I really hope you enjoyed this video as much as I enjoyed making it :) Be sure to give it a like, subscribe if you have not yet and comment what you liked the most.
