One of the most beautiful suburbs in Melbourne.
Williamstown in Melbourne - India2Australia.com
Visit
Williamstown is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 9 km south-west of Melbourne's central business district in the local government area of the City of Hobsons Bay. At the 2011 census, Williamstown had a population of 13,203.
Williamstown is approximately 15 minutes by car from Melbourne via the West Gate Freeway or a 30-minute train journey from Flinders Street Station. Ferries from Melbourne's Southgate Arts & Leisure Precinct take approximately 1-hour.
Williamstown is also the main town where the Australian Television Program Blue Heelers was filmed.
Williamstown is located at the mouth of the Yarra River where it enters Hobsons Bay and Port Phillip, south-west of the Melbourne city centre.
Originally Melbourne's first sea port, Williamstown has developed from what was a neglected industrialised centre into a popular and fashionable maritime village.
Williamstown's attractive main commercial precinct is located along Ferguson Street and Douglas Parade. Around the corner in Nelson Place is what was originally the town centre, lined with historic buildings which are now restaurants, hotels and galleries.
Williamstown is surrounded on three sides by water. The eastern shoreline consists of foreshore reserves dotted with piers, gardens and remnants of Williamstown's maritime history. Scenic views of Melbourne's city skyline can be enjoyed from Gem Pier where cruises on the Yarra River and the bay depart regularly.
Iconic waterfront venue Business for Sale in bustling Williamstown!
Iconic waterfront venue in bustling Williamstown!
One of Victoria’s oldest areas hosts an iconic waterfront restaurant business for sale; Williamstown is a picturesque western suburb of Melbourne with a fascinating, and sometimes gruesome, history. Tourists flock to it, the local’s love it and the rest of Melbourne wish they could live there!
Located in the heart of this tourism precinct is Sam’s Boatshed Restaurant & Bar (now a business for sale), just a stone’s throw from the water, where pelicans and yachts glide serenely along, and a few steps from the Nelson Place restaurant strip, Sam’s Boatshed Restaurant & Bar business for sale is an icon in the true sense of the word.
Established in 1995 in a building that dates back to the 1870’s, this business for sale oozes whispered tales of nautical adventures and rousing sea shanties. To complement the nautical theme of this business for sale, the central feature of the restaurant is the hull of the historic trading vessel the “Atlanta” which sailed in the 1890’s before being sunk off the north coast of Tasmania. Retrieved, restored and placed where she could be admired by diners, the “Atlanta” is just one of the many reasons why people keep coming back to Sam’s Boatshed Restaurant & Bar.
Serving modern Australian cuisine with an emphasis on seafood and tapas, complimented by local and imported beers, sparkling wines, spirits and cocktails, Sam’s Boatshed Restaurant & Bar has a strong customer base, both in person and across a range of social media platforms.
Boasting excellent views of the Melbourne skyline, a huge bluestone wood fired oven, high foot traffic all year round, a seating capacity of 90 people inside with an additional 60 people outside, it’s easy to see why Sam’s Boatshed Restaurant & Bar would be an attractive proposition for new owners.
The average turnover is approximately $22,000 per week, which increases to $55,000 to $60,000 per week during the peak holiday season in December. The property has a reasonable rental with the current term of 5 years having commenced in February 2011 and two further terms of five years available. Currently operating 7 days per week for lunch and dinner, there is an opportunity to introduce a breakfast service.
With the current owners (after 12 years) planning for a change, Sam’s Boatshed Restaurant & Bar would suit an old sea dog ready to leave the high seas, right through to a young entrepreneurial crew member wanting to take on a well-known, highly successful business.
Climb aboard a Williamstown icon…

Fish & Chips Lunch in Lorne | Great Ocean Road Australia - Part 2 | Melbourne - Lorne | 26N11D18
Fish & Chips lunch break in Lorne, Victoria, Australia.
Lorne is a classic Australian beach town famous for surfing and ocean activities. Tourists traveling on The Great Ocean Road come to Lorne for a lunch break or just to have a quick tour of Lorne.
I found only one suitable place to eat, which seemed to be located on its busiest street in Lorne downtown. It’s called Lorne Fish & Chips.
Foods were overpriced, which was expected in a tourist town. The fish was way too salty and did not feel like ocean-fresh. I was unable to finish the fish and concentrated on the chips.
They only take cash and even charge extra if you ask for more ketchup.
You are wathing the second video in the Great Ocean Road Australia Travel playlist. In this video, I will be sharing my Fish & Chips experience in a small seaside town in Lorne, Victoria.
The Great Ocean Road, one of the world's most scenic routes, offers the stunning coastal scenery leading to the famous craggy limestone spires 12 Apostles, along the south-west coast of Victoria.
Experience Australia’s most grandiose landscapes alone the way. The Great Ocean Road offers the opportunities to immerse yourself in the nature and wildlife and experience, world-class surf at Bells Beach, beach-side villages, seaside towns, sandy beaches, pristine rain forest, breathtaking clifftop views, vineyards, restaurants, and local cafes.
Experience the winds alongside the wild and windswept Southern Ocean. The Great Ocean Road begins just a 90-minute drive from Melbourne's city centre and spans 249 miles or 400 kilometres from the town of Torquay to Nelson on the South Australian border.
In the next few videos, I will be sharing my experiences in Australia with you. Experience the beautiful Australia with me.

MELBOURNE RIVER GRAZE FESTIVAL | Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, Melbourne, Australia
The Melbourne River Graze Festival is a 3-day event that's held on the banks of the Yarra River, Melbourne, Australia.
It is part of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. They have food trucks, wines, live music and entertainments for the whole family to enjoy.
It is a great little food festival, it's colourful and pretty. I love how they've places tables & chairs on the grass area. It makes it feel like a big open picnic. The city backdrop makes this festival picture perfect.
