Thailand's Luckiest Visitor: 20th Million Visitor
Thailand goes from 19 million to 20 million arrivals in just 10 days
Bangkok, 26 August, 2015 – Thailand's visitor arrivals count surged by one million in only ten days with the arrival of the country’s 20th million visitor today. This indicated that the widely projected temporary downturn in arrivals following the 17 August attack in Bangkok had failed to materialise.
The 20th million visitor Shoji Omori was given the traditional surprise welcome at Suvarnabhumi Airport today by the executives and representatives of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thai Airways International Public Co., Ltd., the Immigration Bureau, the Airports of Thailand Public Co., Ltd., and True Corporation Public Co., Ltd.
The 19th million visitor was welcomed at Phuket International Airport on 16 August, 2015.
As part of a “Green Season” marketing strategy that began 30 June, every millionth visitor to the country is being welcomed at Thailand’s international aviation gateways, until 30 September, 2015.
The lucky visitors are being pleasantly surprised to receive two economy-class return air tickets from their international port of origin to Thailand along with a five-night accommodation voucher, a “Thailand’s Luckiest Visitor” certificate as well as other prizes from TAT’s project partners. The trips have a validity period of one year.
The activity is designed to support the “2015 Discover Thainess” umbrella campaign, which aims to highlight the endless charm of Thailand, the diversity of destinations, the flavours of Thai cuisine, fascinating uniqueness of the traditions and culture, as well as the friendliness of its people.
Mrs. Juthaporn Rerngronasa, TAT Acting Governor and Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Europe, Africa, Middle East and Americas) said, Hitting the 20th million visitor mark is particularly important because it clearly indicates that arrivals have been virtually unaffected by the 17 August attack. This is a very good sign indeed.
If this pace continues, we are likely to exceed our projection of 28.8 million visitors in 2015. As always, we extend our warm thanks to all visitors for their continued confidence in our country and our people.

ICONSIAM Light and Water Show (Bangkok, Thailand)
ICONIC Multimedia Water Feature
Light-and-sound dancing fountain presents a great spectacle along a 400-metre stretch of the Chao Phraya River, the longest in Southeast Asia. It is the proud creation of GHESA Water and Art Co., Ltd., the fountain specialist that has created landmarks all over the world.
This fountain is fitted with special air-pressure nozzles that projects water 35 meters high, while jet nozzles, operating like a joy stick, create 2D, 3D and 4D water shapes that move in all directions. It also includes nozzles that shoot a stream of water up in the air before it scatters into a floral shape. Near the fountain, ICONSIAM incorporates Thai-ness into this world-class innovation by projecting images representing Thai identity onto a water wall. It is not only the pride of Thai people, but also the world’s new iconic attraction.

My Comment:
My first time watching a Night Show in other countries! I found out about this light and water show on the internet when I was having a holiday trip in Bangkok, Thailand! About ICONSIAM, it is a shopping mall along Chao Phraya River. It has a floating market which sounds unique as it is indoors. It can be accessed via BTS Skytrain Stn, Saphin Taksin along the Silom Line and then taking the boat ride from Sathorn River Stn (Interchange with Saphin Taksin) to ICONSIAM Stn.

Talad Rot Fai (ตลาดนัดรถไฟ), also known as the Train night market in Bangkok, or Talad Rot Fai in Thai, is one of the most popular night markets in Bangkok - this branch located at Ratchada. Here’s a map link:
By the way, this is Part 2 of this Night Market Thai street food tour. You can watch the gigantic tom yum challenge here:
The market is known for its unique Thai street food, some of the snacks and dishes which are invented there and you won’t find anywhere else in Bangkok.
Laeng Saeb (เล้งแซ่บ) at Diaw Maekhlong Restaurant (ร้านเตี๋ยวแม่กลอง) - Laeng saeb, a dish of pork bones and ridiculous amounts of green chilies is one of the most popular Thai street food inventions at Talad Rot Fai, and this is mainly what I came to eat. The restaurant is located at the back of the market, and they have a few different sizes you can choose from.
XXL Laeng Saeb (เล้งแซ่บ) - Price - 599 THB ($18.96) - We went straight for the XXL size, a massive platter of pork bones, soup, insane amounts of green chilies and the soup broth. Of all the Thai street food I’ve eaten, this is one of the most unbelievable and insanely giant street foods of Thailand I’ve ever seen or eaten. Although it’s way more than I ever care to eat again in one sitting, it’s actually a really good dish.
Crispy butter (เนยกรอบ) - 35 THB ($1.11)
Stir fried ice cream (ไอติมผัด) - 69 THB ($2.18)
Coconut shake (น้ำมะพร้าวปั่น) - 35 THB ($1.11)
And that completed this Thai street food night market tour of Talad Rot Fai. It’s well worth a visit, and you can of course, order smaller sizes of laeng saeb when you’re in Bangkok. Enjoy!

Book your next bus trip to and from Cambodia with BOOKMEBUS (
I show you the way through the immigration and visa offices without getting scammed and share some tips to avoid a thorny situation with a tuk tuk driver when you arrive at Siem Reap. Also, I meet some viewers who happened to be on the same bus as me!
Some tips:
-BRING YOUR PASSPORT and an extra passport photo for your visa application.
-Make sure you are carrying enough cash to make it through the visa office ($30 USD + some extra USD or Thai baht for other fees you might get charged.
-The company I used was The Transport Co. Ltd.
-Don't get sidetracked. Go directly to the official border offices and be aware of scams.
-Bring extra snacks and water for the ride (the only stop was at the border).
-Know where your accommodations are located in Siem Reap and avoid taking a complimentary tuk tuk to your hotel/hostel if it's walking distance.

Two Nights in Bangkok - Part 2 - BTS Skytrain + Nightlife - The Pearls Ain't Free
Final day in Bangkok before I go back to Pattaya. My first time using the BTS Skytrain. 140 baht and you can ride it all day if you want to.
After a quick nap it's out to Soi Cowboy and Nana plaza to check out the night life. I let the video run a little long here to give an idea on the scarcity of bars outside of Nana Plaza. Bangkok nightlife in this area is great but I find the limited number of locations and how spread out it is to be a problem. It's like having Pattaya with only Soi 6 and LK Metro.
That being said, I'm a bit of a Bangkok newbie having only been a few times. I'm sure people will set me straight in the comments regarding nightlife areas and maybe teach me a thing or two.

Ong Bak | Fight Club Scene
Thai stuntman Tony Jaa makes his starring debut in this martial arts action film directed by Prachya Pinkaew. Ja plays Ting, a young man living in a village in rural Thailand. Discovered as an infant on the steps of the town's temple and raised by monks who taught him the Thai martial art of muay thai, Ting is sent to Bangkok when the head of the town's statue of the Buddha, to which they pray to bring the annual rains to their drought-stricken region, is stolen. The country boy is plunged into the big city's seething criminal underworld, and forced to use his fighting skills to dispatch a parade of thugs in an underground fight club on his way to finding the criminal mastermind who stole the Buddha head so he can return it before drought and starvation bring his hometown to ruin.
Starring: Tony Jaa, Mum Jokemok
