Oneonta Gorge, Columbia River Gorge, Oregon | Two Girls Hiking
We got up at 5am to head out to Oneonta Gorge, and had the place all to ourselves! One of the biggest complaints about this trail is how over crowded it is, so we were really happy to experience it without a bunch of other people. :) The water was freezing, but it was such an adventure! We had a blast, and hope you enjoy the video. :)

Oneonta Gorge, Oregon
This small gorge is a popular 'hike' at low water in the summer and early fall. Oneonta Creek empties into the Columbia River Gorge near Multnomah Falls. The water is cold even in late summer and the deepest hole just before the falls is chest high.

Multnomah Falls BEFORE THE FIRE | Waterfalls of Columbia River Gorge, Oregon
Multnomah Falls has been on my bucket list since I saw pictures of it years ago on Instagram. It is cooler in person than in pictures. We shot this video in May 2016, a year before the Eagle Creek fire devastated this area in September 2017. The trail to the top reopened in May 2019, and you can see what it looks like now in our AFTER THE FIRE video:
On this little road trip, we headed east through Washington past some very scenic overlooks. We crossed the Bridge of the Gods into Oregon and explain where the name came from. Then we checked out the waterfall area of the Columbia River Gorge, stopping at Horsetail Falls, Multnomah Falls, and Latourell Falls.
We didn't have the time to hike to Oneonta Falls. Next time!

Chasing More Waterfalls and Walking Behind One!
In today's video, we go chasing 4 more waterfalls. Horsetail Falls is beautiful and right off the road. It's amazing how easy it is to get up to the basis of it. The next falls is one of our absolute favorites so far and that is Ponytail Falls or Upper Horsetail Falls. You can walk behind the waterfall which was so amazing! The next waterfall on the hike was Oneonta Falls, also pretty and finally, Triple Falls. We've never seen three falls like that before. We hiked to just beyond Triple Falls and played in the creek for a while admiring the bridge and Cairn garden in the water. A wonderful hike followed by a fabulous time at Thunder Island Brewing sitting along the Columbia RIver.

Gone Travelin' V: After the fire in the Columbia Gorge
Columbia River Gorge wildfires in 2017 impacted and closed some of Oregon's most beloved trails.
But in the fall of 2018, after a season of new post-fire growth and extensive repairs, several of the Gorge's trails were reopened... so I drove out there to take a look.
