This temple in Japan has a robot priest
A 400-year-old temple in Japan is attempting to hot-wire interest in Buddhism with a robotic priest. The android Kannon, based on the Buddhist deity of mercy, preaches sermons at Kodaiji temple in Kyoto, and its human colleagues predict that with artificial intelligence (AI), it could one day acquire unlimited wisdom.
The adult-sized robot was put into service earlier this year and is able to move its torso, arms and head. But only its hands, face and shoulders are covered in silicone to replicate human skin.
It was developed at a cost of almost US$1 million (S$1.38 million) in a joint project between the Zen temple and renowned robotics professor Hiroshi Ishiguro at Osaka University

#21 Walking in japan Koshigoe station from Enoshima station(江ノ島駅〜腰越駅)
The Enoshima Electric Railway running from Fukushiro to Kamakura is a popular railway which is constantly attracting attention even in Japan's railway by train running to pass through a very narrow place. The sea on the Shonan seashore seen from the train is very beautiful.
If you board the Enoshima Electric Railroad, it will arrive in a few minutes, but I went all the way.
Enoshima Because the electric railway runs parallel to the roadway, I walked while enjoying it.

[4K] Walking Kitashinchi (北新地) in the daytime
I walked Kitashinchi in the daytime.
Some fine dining restaurants are offering lunch. Office workers were walking.
Kitashinchi is one of the famous entertainment district in JAPAN.
It is located south of and within walking distance of Osaka Station and provides a good alternative with its hundreds of restaurants, bars and night clubs.
Life in a Japanese City 4K | Japan ASMR | Ambient Sounds
A different kind of video for you all today! People have been asking for video of everyday life in Japan outside of the big cities like Tokyo and Osaka, so, I thought what better place to make a video than Kakogawa!
There's no commentary in this video only the raw unedited sights and sounds of a small city in Japan. I'm hoping it will at least at as some kind of relaxing ambient sound, something along the lines of ASMR...but, you know...less weird.
Anyway, hope you enjoy it!

Tohoku My Love, Japanese Suite by Duo Sweet 17 あまちゃん組曲
For our 2014 Building Bridges Tour in Japan we had a varied program of European and Japanese music. Here is a little suite of Japanese pieces we arranged in memory of the 2011 Tsunami victims and in honour of the people who still live in the now heavily contaminated region. Playing for them was a very emotional experience, especially the children's concerts. We have no footage from the Fukushima concerts, only photos. But we played the pieces at some other concerts on the tour. This version is from our Kakogawa concert, where we played in a buddhist temple.
The whole story of our tour can be found on:

Architecture Night Walk: Fukushima Ward to Osaka Station, Osaka | The Real Japan | HD
Architecture Night Walk: Fukushima Ward to Osaka Station, Osaka | The Real Japan | HD
Osaka is blessed with countless buildings worth investigating if, like me, you're interested in architecture.
It's streets also have a special atmosphere at night.
So I thought I'd make a film incorporating both things - a walk at night through an area containing some of my favourite architecture.
I shot this film after going to a gig at the 2nd Line live house in Fukushima ward. It was shot starting around 10:45pm.
The walk back to Osaka Station was a leisurely 15 minutes. I knew the route had a number of architecturally interesting buildings along the way.
Fukushima-ku is one of 24 wards of Osaka.
The ward is primarily a residential quarter, but has some office buildings and a commercial district, as well as factories and wholesale businesses.
In more recent years, many high rise apartments and office buildings have been built in this ward, because it is close to the Umeda and Dōjima business centres, and not far from Osaka Station - a major transportation hub.

The Japanese Garden | 日本庭園 | Henderson | Auckland | オークランド | 加古川市
The Japanese Garden is inspired by the traditional Viewing Gardens that originated in the 15th century Japan. The garden is situated north of the civic building at 6 Henderson Valley Road, Henderson

Viewing Gardens are intended to promote contemplation when viewed from an adjoining pavilion. In addition to plants, the viewing garden makes artistic use of rocks [ishi], artificial hills [tsuki-yama], ponds [ike], stone lanterns [ishidoro] and the flowing water of rivers or streams [kawa], and waterfalls [taki].
With these elements, the Japanese viewing garden traditionally creates a scenic composition that mimics nature. This means that when you move through a Japanese garden, you not only see with your eyes, you listen, feel and live its simplicity and beauty.
The garden has been developed from the original gifted by Waitakere's Sister City of Kakogawa | 加古川市 in Japan. It has been shifted from its original site and re-developed with assistance from Kagogawa.
This garden melts New Zealand natives with exotic and Japanese plants to reflect the partnership between Waitakere City and its Japanese Sister City, Kakogawa | 加古川市
Masaoka Shiki 正岡 子規?, October 14, 1867 -- September 19, 1902, pen-name of Masaoka Noboru 正岡 升was a Japanese poet, author, and literary critic in Meiji period Japan. Shiki is regarded as a major figure in the development of modern poetry. He also wrote on reform of tanka poetry. Some consider Shiki to be one of the four great haiku masters, the others being Matsuo Bashō, Yosa Buson, and Kobayashi Issa.

Kobe, Japan - Motomachi Station (2019)
Motomachi Station (元町駅 Motomachi-eki) is a railway station in Motomachi, Chūō-ku, Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan.
It is one of the main stations serving the central business district of Kobe. The station is the closest access point to the Motomachi shopping district and to Nanking Town, one of Japan's three largest Chinatown districts.
Kobe (神戸市 Kōbe-shi, Japanese: [koːꜜbe]) is the sixth-largest city in Japan and the capital city of Hyōgo Prefecture. It is located on the southern side of the main island of Honshū, on the north shore of Osaka Bay and about 30 km (19 mi) west of Osaka. With a population around 1.5 million, the city is part of the Keihanshin metropolitan area along with Osaka and Kyoto.
The earliest written records regarding the region come from the Nihon Shoki, which describes the founding of the Ikuta Shrine by Empress Jingū in AD 201. For most of its history, the area was never a single political entity, even during the Tokugawa period, when the port was controlled directly by the Tokugawa shogunate. Kobe did not exist in its current form until its founding in 1889. Its name comes from kanbe (神戸, an archaic title for supporters of the city's Ikuta Shrine). Kobe became one of Japan's designated cities in 1956.
Kobe was one of the cities to open for trade with the West following the 1853 end of the policy of seclusion and has since been known as a cosmopolitan and nuclear-free zone port city. While the 1995 Great Hanshin earthquake diminished much of Kobe's prominence as a port city, it remains Japan's fourth-busiest container port. Companies headquartered in Kobe include ASICS, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Kobe Steel, as well as over 100 international corporations with Asian or Japanese headquarters in the city, such as Eli Lilly and Company, Procter & Gamble, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Nestlé. The city is the point of origin and namesake of Kobe beef, as well as the site of one of Japan's most famous hot spring resorts, Arima Onsen.
