Takeda Castle floats on the clouds - The Japan News
The stone walls of the ruins of Takeda Castle floated on a sea of clouds in Asago, Hyogo Prefecture, on the morning of Oct. 16, as if they were part of the floating island of Laputa. Feudal warlord Yamana Sozen built the castle on Mt. Kojo, which is 353 meters high. Called the “Japanese Machu Picchu” after the ancient Inca ruins in Peru, the remains of the castle are a designated national monument and have been increasingly popular lately. [Released on Oct. 16]

How to get to TAKEDA CASTLE HYOGO JAPAN
HYOGO SHIKI WINTER Ver.
Hyogo Prefecture, located near the center of Japan, faces the Japan Sea in the north and the Pacific Ocean via the Seto Inland Sea in the south. 135º east longitude fixes Japan Standard Time and runs through the central part of the prefecture. Hyogo is blessed with an abundance of wonderful resources and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Himeji Castle is just one representative of history and culture. Nature on Mt. Rokko; the prosperous Arima, Kinosaki, and Yumura hot springs; Kobe beef and Izushi soba; and snow crab and local sake are some of the other representatives.
