Kirishima is a city in Kagoshima Prefecture. Popular for its hot springs and mountains. In the center of the city, it's easy to find steaming from ground.
- Kirishima contains multiple hot spring areas and Maruo Hot Spring is locating in the touristic center.
- Kirishima Hot Springs Market a.k.a. Kirishima Onsen Ichiba is a marketplace with shops, restaurants and a tourist information center. Snack stands boiled by hot spring have sweet potatoes, sausages, eggs, etc. In the city, public buses passing this market are main vehicles to arrive popular touristic spots for travelers.
- There are various hot spring facilities providing different experiences. Each hot spring consists of several separated properties mostly running as hotels. After using a hot spring within the hotel, enjoying a great meal served by the property is common. Or some just have a trip to the hot spring and leave. It's called as Higaeri Onsen(日帰り温泉).
- Depending on areas, a deposit in the hot spring water called as Yunohana(湯の花) can be found. Besides that, there are other various hot spring experiences. Therefore, many people consider visiting multiple places.
- On high points of Kirishima, Sakurajima(桜島) and Kaimondake(開聞岳) can be watched.
- Sakamoto Ryoma(坂本 龍馬) who lived in 19th century has been very popular in Japan. His honeymoon course in Kirishima is well-known and consistently collects people all over the country. Shiohidashi Hot Spring Ryoma Park is one of those. A free foot bath is available in this park.
- Kareigawa Station is the old wooden train station opened in 1903. Ekiben(lunchbox at train station) is very popular. Some people visit the station to buy this. The sightseeing train, Hayato's Wind(はやとの風) is in operation.

- Kagoshima Prefecture is also known as the area of the most number of bamboos in Japan.

- The best experience in Kirishima is a mountain climbing. There are famous mountain areas such as Karakunidake(韓国岳), Ebinokogen(えびの高原), Shinmoedake(新燃岳), Takachihonomine(高千穂峰) and so on. Unfortunately, hiking in most mountain areas wasn't allowed due to the recent eruption of Mountain Shinmoedake.

- 다양한 경험을 제공하는 다양한 온천들이 있으며 각각의 온천은 주로 몇몇의 숙박업소로 운영되고 있다. 호텔 또는 여관에서 온천을 이용하고 나면 대개 정갈한 식사를 즐길 수 있으며, 숙박하지 않고 당일온천(日帰り温泉 히가에리온센)만을 이용하는 것도 가능하다.
- 지역에 따라 온천수 내에 유노히나(湯の花)라고 불리는 부유물이 발견되기도 한다. 이외에도 여러 온천들이 각기 다른 체험을 제공하기 때문에 두곳 이상을 들르는 방문객도 많다.
- 기리시마의 높은 지대에서는 사쿠라지마(桜島)와 가이몬다케(開聞岳)를 관찰하는 것도 가능하다.
- 19세기 인물인 사카모토 료마(坂本 龍馬)는 일본에서 아주 유명하며 기리시마에 위치한 그의 신혼여행지가 유명하여 전국의 관광객을 불러모은다. 시오히다시 온천 료마공원은 그 중 하나로서 이곳에서는 무료 족욕탕을 운영하고 있다.
- 카레이가와역은 1903년에 문을 연 목조 기차역이다. 에키벤(기차역의 도시락)이 아주 인기있으며, 어떤 사람은 오로지 이 도시락을 먹기 위해 먼 곳에서 찾아오기도 한다. 관광열차인 하야토의 바람(はやとの風 하야토노가제)을 타는 것도 가능하다.

自の然の川中に温泉源があり湧き出た温泉水と川の水が重なる温泉

途中までは、車で行けますが駐車場から約2キロくらい歩きます。
だんだん温泉の匂いが強くなります。小さいな橋を過ぎて、けむりが見えたら下におります。
子供たちは、水着に着替えて川に入って温かい場所を探してゆったり！

Kagoshima 2017 - 1-1 Kirishima Sakura Sakura Onsen 第一站：霧島櫻櫻泥漿温泉
霧島最出名就係溫泉，所以一到鹿兒島便要先去拜訪其中一個很有名的「櫻櫻泥漿溫泉」。遊人不多，所以基本上是包場，正！泥漿美肌亦是一個不錯的體驗:)
其實溫泉沒有人時是有機會偷拍內部設施的，但實在不想犯規，和希望尊重別人的規則，所以溫泉內景況請上官網看看吧。

Located within the hot springs prefecture of Oita in Kyushu is the world famous hot springs resort town of Beppu. Visitors can experience eight different springs here: Beppu, Kannawa, Myoban, Kankaiji, Hamawaki, Kamegawa, Horita and Shibaseki. And, not only is there a variety of springs, there are many different type of baths offered here. In additional to the conventional indoor and outdoor onsen (hot springs bath), there are facilities which offer sand baths, steam baths, or mud baths.
Hyotan Onsen in Beppu is the only Michelin 3 star hot springs in Japan. Hyotan Onsen is a public bath house which offers steam baths and sand baths in addition to the conventional indoor and outdoor hot springs baths. In addition to the eight different, gender separated baths, Taki no Yu, or the Waterfall Bath is quite popular with its single waterfall stream of hot springs hitting the bather’s shoulder or back, providing warm relief.
Private baths are also available at an hourly charge. And there is a foot bath for those who would like a small taste of the Hyotan Onsen experience.
The bath house has a rest room for visitors to relax in after their hot bath. In addition, there is a restaurant serving both local food as well as common Japanese food like tempura or curry rice. Among the local food is the “Jigoku Mushi Ryori”. Jigoku Mushi Ryori are local foods steamed from the heat of the hot springs. Hyotan Onsen has its own original ice cream, Yura soft—a combination of hot spring jelly mixed with thick vanilla ice.

Bessho Onsen (別所温泉), located just outside Ueda City in Nagano Prefecture, is a small hot spring (onsen) resort. Though the town has a rich history being the center of education and religion, with various designated National Treasures and unique temples, Bessho Onsen is known for its onsen (hot spring).
Bessho Onsen is the oldest recorded onsen in this region. The sulfurous waters are known for its healing powers. It is said warriors with arrow wounds were healed by bathing in these waters. There are three small traditional public bathhouses and a larger more spacious bathhouse with amenities.
Oyu, translating to “large hot spring” is the largest of the 3 traditional public bathhouses. The baths are gender separated with each gender having both an indoor and outdoor bath.

Closed: First and third Wednesday of each month
Admission: 150 yen
Daishiyu which means great teacher, hot spring is named after Jikaku Daishi. It is said this great Buddhist priest of the Tendai Sect and head priest at Enryakuji Temple in Kyoto bathed here during the construction of the Kitamuki Kannon Temple. The baths are gender separated; however, Daishiyu has only one indoor bath per gender.

Hours: 6:00 to 22:00
Closed: First and third Thursday of each month
Admission: 150 yen
Ishiyu means Stone Bath. A befitting name, as the gender separated indoor baths of Ishiyu has large stones set in the water. It is from these stones hot water gushes forth to fill the baths.

Hours: 6:00 to 22:00
Closed: Second and fourth Tuesday of each month
Admission: 150 yen
Located near the Bessho Onsen Station is a modern onsen complex known as Aisome no Yu. Being large, this facility has multiple indoor baths and an outdoor bath for each gender. In addition visitors can enjoy the saunas, hot stone baths (ganbanyoku), massage services and relaxation space.

Hours: 10:00 to 22:00
Closed: 2nd and 4th Monday every month (except for national holidays)
