Japanese Onsen are natural hot springs and around them are amazing places where you can bathe in many different kinds of waters. Bath tourism to onsen towns has always been popular with Japanese but as more people come to Japan for a visit, more are visiting the onsen and there are hundreds of hot spring towns.
Onsen baths are loaded with minerals that are good for the body, making your skin silky soft. Most of the water in these areas seeps from the ground, the hot water being the reason why many towns exist at that particular spot, their history rooting in its water.
It's the one do not miss recommendations I have for any trip to Japan. Every onsen is different so in this episode, I visit 13 different onsen towns in Fukushima prefecture, most with history going back centuries.

After the amazing visit to the Tobu World Square and The Grand Palladium Maze in Kinugawa, Nikko, our trip was a complete success after a relaxing time at the Kinugawa Akebi Onsen.
We rented a small house with two open-air bathtubs with flowing hot springs. If you avoid public hot spring baths this place is perfect for you and the family. The place is located in the forest near the river.

【How to enjoy the town of hot spring recommended by local students…】
Iwaki Yumoto Hot Spring has been loved as one of the three ancient springs along with Dogo Hot Spring and Arima Hot Spring for over 1300 years. Iwaki Yumoto has also an amusement facility called Spa Resort Hawaiians, where Japan’s first Hula Girls began their performance. The place is famous as a Hawaii of Tohoku area.
This Promotion Video (PV) is produced by New Generation Assistant (NGA) student members of Iwaki Meisei University. This PV tries to introduce this tourist site, Iwaki Yumoto town to you with a more relaxed and local viewpoint. We will focus on various spots around JR Yumoto Station.
【The back ground of this Iwaki Tourist PV production】
Iwaki Meisei University received an offer to make this PV from the Hotel Business Liaison Council & Iwaki Chamber of Commerce Industry. Then, the volunteer group members of NGA launched a project team named IMU Iwaki Activation Team to make PVs about Iwaki city. With a supervising editor, Mr. Hidemi Takahagi, a professional of video production from ifeels Inc, it took five months to complete this project. Totally, five PVs with five respective themes, “Night Views,” “Mountains,” “Sea”, “Hot Spring” and “Gourmet” were made.

■ Iwaki Yumoto Onsen OfficialSite
With a long history of more than 1600 years, along with Dogo and Arima, is one of Japan's three ancient Onsen.
It takes about 140 minutes by the Joban Line Limited Express from Tokyo Station to Yumoto Station. Yumoto Station is located in the center of Onsen resort.
About 2 hours from Tokyo or Narita Airport to Iwaki Yumoto IC via expressway.
The source of the Onsen, which boasts 5 tons of water per minute, is a natural sulfur onsen of 59 degrees Celsius, which boasts a discharge of 5 tons per minute drawn from about 50 m underground. Onsen is distributed to each facility through the underground in the town in a complete discharge system.
Onsen's quality is nationally rare [Sulfur-Sodium-Chloride-Sulfate Onsen], Beautiful water (Beautiful skin, detoxification, peripheral vasodilation), Heart's Onsen (Blood pressure is reduced) It is effective for arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure), Hot Onsen (for elderly people, high in heat retention effect) and has a number of other effects.
Nearby isFC Park, home of the soccer team Iwaki FC, who is promoted to the J1 league, a stadium, fields, a mountain, the sea, rivers and other nature, and a variety of activities can be enjoyed.
There is also a Onsen leisure facility Spa Resort Hawaiians in the Onsen village. The culture of hula has taken root since the Showa era, and in 2015, Hula Okami general at Iwaki Yumoto Onsen declared the hula town.
