Kaminoyama Onsen Yamagata - Kaminoyama Castle 上山城 and Tsukioka Hotel Ryokan
Kaminoyama Onsen is about two and a half hours from Tokyo by bullet train. We stayed at the Tsukioka Hotel, just a short walk from Kaminoyama Castle. We had a wonderful time there. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room, hot spring and food were amazing.

Four days video itinerary in Tohoku / Yamagata / Miyagi prefectures:
Day 1: Leave Tokyo and head to Miyagi Zao Fox Village. Travel to Zao Onsen and spend the night viewing the night illuminated Juhyo (snow monsters)
Days 2-3: Ski in Zao Onsen Ski Resort
Day 4: Day-Use Onsen in the amazing Koyo Hotel at Kaminoyama Onsen before heading back to Tokyo.

Here is a drone aerial video of Yamanaka hot springs in Kaga hot spring resort, Ishikawa Prefecture. They took videos of Kakusenkei Valley, Kurotani Bridge, Ayatori Bridge, the river side terrace, Kayano Osugi(large cedar tree), Wagatani Dam, Kutani Dam, Kokubunzan Ioji Temple, the hot spring district (Yamanaka-za theater, Yuge-kaido Street).
Kaga City, located in the southwest area of Ishikawa Prefecture, has Kaga hot spring resort, and has prospered as one of the best hot spring resorts in Hokuriku region.

Ginzan Onsen, Japan - Ginzan Onsen Hot Spring Resort Town (2019)
Ginzan Onsen (銀山温泉) is an onsen (hot spring) area in Obanazawa, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. Its name means silver mine hot spring. Ginzan Onsen's economy took off thanks to its booming silver production and eventually transitioned over to tourism when it opened up dozens of hot spring resorts along the central river that runs through the town. The mountains that surround this town yield rich hot spring water that is used both in the private hotels and public baths in the city center.
Ginzan onsen became nationally famous as it was featured in the popular television drama Oshin. Each year this onsen village sees hundreds of thousands of domestic Japanese visitors.
Internationally, this town saw a sharp rise in foreign tourism thanks to the famous snow covered sights in the winter. It has since been featured on international travel sites and agencies across the world. CNN has even suggested that this onsen town may be Japan's most charming winter village.
Fossils from the Miocene era have been found in the vicinity.
Note that access to this town requires riding a bus or taking a short taxi ride. There is more information on accessing Ginzan Onsen on their Japanese website.

Yamagata Drone Flight: Yamagata, a prefecture on Japans Honshu Island, is known for mountains, hot springs and temples. Snow-covered conifers famously resembling snow monsters mark its Mt. Zao ski resort area, which is also the site of hot springs and hiking trails around color-shifting Okama Crater Lake. The capital, also called Yamagata, is home to the hillside Yamadera Buddhist complex, centered on 9th-century Risshaku-ji Temple. A visit to Yamadera inspired a famous haiku by Edo Period poet Basho, and nearby Yamadera Basho Memorial Museum exhibits his original works. Dating to the 6th century, the Shinto-Buddhist pilgrimage sites of Dewa Sanzan (Three Mountains of Dewa) comprise Mt. Haguro (known for its wooden Goju-to Pagoda), 1,984m Mt. Gassan and Mt. Yudono, with a shrine thats considered especially sacred. Hilltop Kaminoyama Castle in the southeastern city Kaminoyama reconstructs an Edo Period citadel. Hot spring Ginza, Yamagata perfecture
Notoya Ryokan (能 登 屋 旅館) di sumber air panas Ginzan. Ryokan ini memiliki sejarah sekitar 500 tahun dan sekarang berjalan sudah ke generasi 14 dari keluarga. Pemandian air panas diberi nama 'Ginzan' berasal dari tambang Perak yang berada didekatnya, membawa kemakmuran besar ke desa.
Tempat bepergian indah ini menjadi terkenal ketika salah satu drama legendaris Jepang, Oshin, sumber air panas Ginzan digunakan sebagai lokasi syuting.
Oshin adalah salah satu drama yang paling banyak ditonton dalam sejarah Jepang dan disiarkan di 68 negara lainnya. Episode yang merupakan biografi kehidupan seorang gadis yang lahir di desa pedesaan miskin, Shin Takakura (Oshin).
