Beppu được thành lập vào ngày 01 Tháng 4 năm 1924 và nổi tiếng với hàng ngàn onsen (suối nước nóng), được coi là thiêng liêng của Nhật bản.Onsen ở Beppu của Nhật Bản ,có 9 suối nước nóng lớn, đôi khi được gọi là” 9 địa ngục của Beppu “. Beppu được coi là một thành phố du lịch của Nhật Bản ,đẹp như tranh vẽ. Cũng giống như nhiều Thành phố của Nhật Bản, Beppu được kẹp giữa biển và núi.

THE CREEPIEST SHRINE IN JAPAN | Usuki, Oita
A friend mentioned that there is a shrine with stacks of bones around it and we HAD to check it out.
We had to drive through some rugged roads and climb an almost vertical mountain cliff. It was definitely a cool shrine inside a cave. It's apparently a hunting shrine - somewhere to pray for/give thanks for successful hunts by returning the skulls of the animal. The skulls of hunted boars and deers were piled about knee high.

The Meotoshi Tower consisting of 14 large Imari ware wind chimes must not be missed. Its sound that echoes through the mountain village was selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Soundscapes.
