Atami and Ito, located at the root of Izu-hanto Peninsula and facing Sagami Bay, are areas with modern hotels, Japanese inns with historical backgrounds, and various amusement facilities, all standing next to each other to form one of the leading hot spring resorts in Japan.
In Atami are the famous Atami, Izu-san-onsen, Izu-Yugawara-onsen and Ajiro-onsen hot springs. At the heart of Atami Hot Spring resort is the Oyu Geyser that spouts huge quantities of hot water.

Located within the hot springs prefecture of Oita in Kyushu is the world famous hot springs resort town of Beppu. Visitors can experience eight different springs here: Beppu, Kannawa, Myoban, Kankaiji, Hamawaki, Kamegawa, Horita and Shibaseki. It has eight major geothermal hot spots, sometimes referred to as the eight hells of Beppu. They are presented to visitors in a rather touristy fashion, which might not appeal to everyone. Six of them are located in the Kannawa district and two in the more remote Shibaseki district.
Tatsumaki Jigoku
The spout hell features a boiling hot geyser with strength to burst over 50 meters. A stone plate above the geyser prevents it from reaching its full height. The hot geyser erupts every 30 to 40 minutes for about 6 to10 minutes. A short walking trail leads up the forested slope in the back of the hell grounds.

Drift ice and bird watching cruise in Shiretoko Rausu【SHIRETOKO TV】
Winter heralds the arrival of white-tailed and Steller's sea eagles, which are designated protected species and a bird-watcher's dream. During the drift ice season, around 2000 white-tailed and Steller's sea eagles come, and you have a 90% chance of seeing them. People even come from overseas to take photos! There are even early-morning cruises where you can see the sun rise over Kunashiri and the Northern Territories!

Whale-watching boat Aruran III is a cruise boat on a route certified by the former Ministry of Transportation.
It was certified during a time when safety regulations were particularly strict, and this is probably the only place where you can go whale watching on such a boat.
It is very carefully maintained to this day!

Nakasatsunai Cycling
We started Feriendorf, resort of German style cottages, and enjoyed cycling around Tokachi area. This area is almost flat and the road is quite straight, low traffic with good scenery. It must be one of the best cycling area in Hokkaido.
