Sarawak... More To Discover
Revealing a side of Asia unlike anywhere else, Sarawak offers an alternative for those seeking humble authenticity far from the tourist-trap clichés. Visiting Sarawak can be done as a complementary trip to Peninsular Malaysia and neighbouring countries, or a journey discovery all on its own. To discover Sarawak means taking the road less travelled.
Whether it is sharing in lifestyle of one of the many indigenous communities’ longhouses, exploring gigantic caves in the the UNESCO World Heritage of Gunung Mulu National Park, you will find Sarawak offers a host of memorable experiences to bring home to.
Connect with your inner-self; kayak along our boutique rivers, run your personal best marathon or hike the many jungle trails of Sarawak’s diverse national parks.
From participating in a volunteer programme to learning how to cook Sarawakian dishes, from making new friends at major festivals and events to seeing orangutans up close, Sarawak is a prime destination for the intrepid traveller in you.
As part of Malaysia on the island of Borneo, Sarawak is a peaceful and stable place for travel, suited for large groups or single travellers alike.

Malaysian Food Guide in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Compilation Travel Video Transcript:
Good evening good evening! We are in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. And we're hungry it is at night so that means we're going out for street food. And where are we?
So today we're checking out Jalan Alor. Or the Alor Street Night Market.
lright guys, for today's lunch we're at the Central Market here in Kuala Lumpur and we're going to be trying something that is called Peranakan Cuisine or Nyonya Cuisine.
And basically this is a combination of Chinese and Malay ingredients and cooking styles and it is the type of food that you'd be able to find in Malacca, Penang, Singapore or parts of Indonesia. It is really tasty.
Yeah, and since we're not going to be able to go to Malacca this time around. Awe!
We found a place that specializes in Nyonya Cuisine right here. Yes.
So happy guys and my mouth is watering. The food came out so quickly and the portions are huge and everything smells delicious.
Look at how big the Laksa (叻沙 - 喇沙) is.
Look at the size of this bowl. Like look at my little hands. Put your hand over top of it.
And you know what? We should also mention before we finish up. Oh yeah. There isn't just one typical Malaysian breakfast. Because you have so many different cultures here. There is like different meals that you can get for breakfast. There is Malay, Chinese, Indian food. Yeah. In fact, we saw someone at the Central Market selling little triangle shaped Nasi Lemak. Which is wrapped in a banana leaf and yeah that looked tempting as well too.
Welcome to Chinatown! Yeah, so we're in Kuala Lumpur in Chinatown. This is where we're staying. Yes. We're hungry. We're craving some street food and this is just the place to check it out. Yeah, so today we're going to be eating along Jalan Petaling (茨厂街). Yeah, Petaling Night Market Street (茨廠街). Yeah, lots of food here and it is already busy. The sun has gone down so let's go get started.
Food time.
Okay, so we walked out of the hotel and we found. We found something right away. Oh yeah. It is claypot chicken rice and it looks so good from across the street. It is cooking right behind us. Literally right behind us. It looks so good. We can't wait for it to arrive. In the meantime you've got yourself a local iced tea. Ice tea. It is so hot out.
I tried a little bit of it already. It is quite sweet.
Alright, the claypot chicken rice (砂煲鸡饭) is here. Check it out. It is served in like this claypot itself so I'm being very careful not to touch it because I have a feeling this would burn.
Well good morning good morning. Today we are having a late breakfast. It is probably close to ten in the morning and we're at a place called Old Town White Coffee. So we're going to be having Nasi Lemak which is one of the national dishes of Malaysia. And it basically consists of rice cooked in coconut milk. Steamed with coconut milk. So that should be really tasty. We've ordered two different varities. Sam already has his white coffee here so he'll be having that.

New Visit Malaysia 2014 theme song by Yuna
The Malaysia Truly Asia song, sung in the fresh and honest style of Yuna, for the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 campaign. Yuna is Malaysia's internationally-acclaimed Indie-pop singer- songwriter. This was a Tourism Malaysia production.
MALAYSIA TRULY ASIA
You'll love Malaysia now and forever
Different races everywhere
The soul of Asia is surely here
This beautiful Malaysia
You'll love the colours of Malaysia
Where the sun loves to shine
On sandy beaches and clear waters
With smiles of friendly races
This land so beautiful
It steals your heart away
This land is paradise
Only a smile away
The soul of Asia
The essence of Asia
In this land where dreams come true
Malaysia
Malaysia is truly Asia
People smiling everywhere
Showing you how much they care
Welcome to Malaysia
This land so beautiful
It steals your heart away
This land is paradise
Only a smile away
The soul of Asia
The essence of Asia
In this land where dreams come true
This land so beautiful
It steals your heart away
This land is paradise
Only a smile away
The soul of Asia
The essence of Asia
In this land where dreams come true
This land so beautiful
It steals your heart away
This land is paradise
Only a smile away
The soul of Asia
The essence of Asia
It's truly Asia
Malaysia truly Asia

Visit Malaysia Year 2014
Cat City impresses Steven Seagal
KUCHING: Hollywood star Steven Seagal is impressed by the capital city of Sarawak where he made a special appearance at the Asean International Film Festival and Awards (Aiffa) 2019.
“I’ve been to Malaysia many times but this is my first trip to Kuching. It’s unspoilt, simple and charming.
“And really nice people as well as beautiful culture,” he told a press conference packed with local and foreign media as well as fans at the Old Court House here yesterday.
With him were his wife Erdenetuya Seagal, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and permanent secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Hii Chang Kee.
Seagal said he could not recall the name of his favourite local dish that he tasted during a visit to Sarawak Cultural Village on Friday.
“To be honest with you, I don’t remember the name. There is a lot of different indigenous food. The one with fish and ginger, that’s my favourite,” he said in response to a question.
A local representative later explained that the dish was smoked fish (ikan salai) with ginger.
Seagal did not rule out the possibility of returning to the city for the filming of a movie.
“We are planning to come back here for a film,” he said in reply to another question but did not give a definite answer on how soon that would happen when probed further.
When prompted for his opinion on the importance of Aiffa, Seagal said: “First of all, in my humble opinion, the bigger you get, the less quality you’ll probably be able to maintain.
“I’d rather be in a film festival having the quality of people, art and culture rather than so big and yet hard to manage,” he added.
On his upcoming movie, he said it will be about human trafficking with a lot of action.
“Most of my movies will have some implication on how we improve society by helping the weak and putting a stop to evil. I’ll be using martial arts,” he explained.
According to Seagal, he has been practising self-defence skill for 55 years and counting.
“I started very young, maybe seven or eight years old,” he said, adding that he had tried kungfu, karate and others.
In between question and answer during meet-the-fan session, the famous Sarawakian expression ‘Ooh-ha’ slipped from the lips of the Hollywood action star.
Two kids, believed to be literate in Russian were later invited to the stage to pose their questions to Seagal, but ended up staring at the movie star instead.
The session concluded with Seagal tossing the official Aiffa t-shirts to the crowd.
