Krakowiacy i Górale - Wojciech Bogusławski / Jan Stefani
O spektaklu:

Opera Software Wrocław by mode:lina™
We really had to work for a long time to find a place, which would combine this non-corporate atmosphere, prestigious location along with a piece of history. And here it is! - says Krystian Kolondra, director of Polish agency Opera Software.
The designers from mode:lina™ studio have faced a challenge of planning an interior project for Norwegian company Opera Software, creator of the popular web browser. The company headquarters are located in two prestigious town houses in the hearth of Wroclaw - one from the beginning of the XIX century and the second from 1913 – which the owner is Zbigniew Grycan.
Despite the fact that the roots of Opera Software lie in Norway, its Polish agency is closely connected to Wroclaw. Moreover, business centre Hieroniumus (the so-called Glass House) is an extremely important building for people, who live in Wroclaw. As a result, the city architecture has inspired the designers during the design process of the company’s interior.

The Wroclaw Opera
The Wroclaw Opera deservedly is considered not only a cultural, but also a historical landmark of the city. Not far from the bustling city market in the historical part of Wroclaw, on Svidnicka Street since 1841 there is a theater building designed by the famous German architect Karl Ferdinand Langgans. The building, sustained in the style of classicism, is a valuable architectural object, since this building is the oldest of the existing opera houses in Poland.
The names of such outstanding masters a R. Strauss, V. Furtwängler, R. Wagner,N. Paganini, A. Rubinshtein, G. Wieniawski, F. List and many others are associated with the Wroclaw opera and other.

Siegfried Rehearsal - Wroclaw Poland
Redoing my website (urgently needed) I discovered this rehearsal video from our 2005 production of Wagner's Siegfried in Wroclaw Poland! (Hala Ludowa) I was thrilled to find this, for I believe no other recordings of me singing Siegfried have survived or were made.

Hotel Review: Scandic Wrocław, Wrocław, Silesia, Poland - January 2019
Hotel Review: Scandic Wrocław, Wrocław, Silesia, Poland - January 2019.
I stayed at the Scandic Wrocław for New Year 2019. Two of us stayed for 5 nights for New Year 2019 on a room only basis, which cost 1,387 Zloty (£291). This wasn't cheap, but Wroclaw is a busy city at New Year. The room was on the top fourth floor and had a good corner view aspect of the crossroads below. The room was well insulated sound-wise, so noise from the street was not a problem. We had good large windows, which were great for the view, but not so good for the temperature as the room got quite cool at night (it was -6 degrees outside).
The room was large, and annoyingly the only heat source we could find was in the bathroom, which was on a 15 minute timer switch, so not really practicable through the night. The air conditioning did not seem to blow out warm air. With all of that said, we were still happy with the room and just asked for an extra quilt to keep us warm at night.
This is a smart hotel, with a good sized and stylish albeit expensive bar. We didn't try breakfast as it was too expensive at 50 Zloty per person. The hotel reception is bright and airy and the staff were very friendly speaking excellent English.
The location of the hotel is a 7-10 minute walk from the main railway station, and a 10 minute walk to Rynek, the main Market Square. Behind the hotel there is a railway viaduct, and within the arches are some really cool bars and restaurants, definitely worth investigating. This is a decent hotel, and I would certainly consider staying here again in future.
