Welcome to Opotiki
Opotiki is situated on a harbour inlet formed by the junction of two rivers. Opotiki is 150 km to Tauranga and 140 km to Rotorua and is the gateway to Eastland with a wild rugged coastline.
The Opotiki district has a diverse landscape, with rugged coastal vistas, stunning beaches, secluded valleys and beautiful crystal clear mountain streams.
Opotiki sits close to the sparkling Pacific Ocean coast for world-class fishing and diving, and also the bush-clad Raukumura mountain range where you can experience hiking and a wealth of other activities.
The pretty Waioeka and Otara rivers pass right through town, and are frequently paddled by kayakers.

Kayaking with AMAZING views - Paparoa National Park, New Zealand
Am I really in New Zealand right now? I found myself asking that question throughout the whole day that I explored Paparoa National Park in New Zealand's South Island, but especially during my kayak adventure. It felt like I teleported to an African jungle, or a Hawaiian island, or a different planet altogether. It was pretty close to an out-of-body experience.
I stumbled upon this gem while I was hitchhiking down the west coast and the guy who picked me up drove right past it. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how beautiful it was, lightly covered in haze during golden hour. So I HAD to delay my plans and spend the next day exploring this beautiful place.
It is right next to the ocean and the town of Punakaiki. Not only does it have incredible limestone gorges, it has the Pancake Rocks with a natural blowhole, caves, animal watching, and short or multi-day treks. After I hiked around, I waited until golden hour to take a kayak up the gorge. The views were incredible. I definitely recommend Paparoa National Park to those traveling in New Zealand.

Wainuiomata: Wat Dhamma Prateep Monastery problems with Neighbours
Four Buddhist monks set up the Wat Dhamma Prateep monastery on a three-acre lifestyle block but visitors driving to the property along a shared private road prompted a complaint from a neighbour to Hutt City Council.
The council then deemed the house a place of assembly that required resource consent, which cost the monks $3000.

SUMMARY
=======
A mangrove is a shrub or small tree that grows in coastal saline or brackish water. The term is also used for tropical coastal vegetation consisting of such species. Mangroves occur worldwide in the tropics and subtropics, mainly between latitudes 25° N and 25° S. The total mangrove forest area of the world in 2000 was 137,800 square kilometres (53,200 sq mi), spanning 118 countries and territories.Mangroves are salt-tolerant trees, also called halophytes, and are adapted to life in harsh coastal conditions. They contain a complex salt filtration system and complex root system to cope with salt water immersion and wave action. They are adapted to the low oxygen conditions of waterlogged mud.The word is used in at least three senses: (1) most broadly to refer to the habitat and entire plant assemblage or mangal, for which the terms mangrove forest biome, and mangrove swamp are also used, (2) to refer to all trees and large shrubs in the mangrove swamp, and (3) narrowly to refer to the mangrove family of plants, the Rhizophoraceae, or even more specifically just to mangrove trees of the genus Rhizophora.The mangrove biome, or mangal, is a distinct saline woodland or shrubland habitat characterized by depositional coastal environments, where fine sediments (often with high organic content) collect in areas protected from high-energy wave action. The saline conditions tolerated by various mangrove species range from brackish water, through pure seawater (3 to 4%), to water concentrated by evaporation to over twice the salinity of ocean seawater (up to 9%).

SUMMARY
=======
The Bay of Plenty (Māori: Te Moana-a-Toi) is a bight in the northern coast of New Zealand's North Island. It stretches 260 km from the Coromandel Peninsula in the west to Cape Runaway in the east. The Bay of Plenty Region is situated around this body of water, also incorporating several large islands in the bay. The bay was named by James Cook after he noticed the abundant food supplies at several Māori villages there, in stark contrast to the earlier observations he had made in Poverty Bay.
