For this adventure we decided to go to Orange, this is an agricultural city, pretty small, about 40,000 inhabitants. There are plenty of farms, wineries, vineyards, where you can try different wines, get around, relax with your partner and get away from your busy routine.
Road Trip - Day 1 (Itinerary)
- Leaving at 8 am, driving 3 h 30 min from Sydney to Orange
- Botanic Gardens from 12 pm to 2 pm
- Lunch at 2 pm (try it a bit earlier)
- Cook Park from 3 pm to 4 pm
- Lake Canobolas from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

World Famous Botanical Gardens 6: Cook Park - Orange (Australia)
Prize-winning sculpture installed at Orange Botanic Gardens
A past winning work of the ‘Sculpture by the Sea’ competition in Sydney has been installed at the Orange Botanic Gardens.
The work by a Canadian sculptor who’s now based in Sydney, Orest Keywan, was donated to the Orange community by the National Australia Bank, a former sponsor of the annual contest.
The work, titled ‘and with a name to come’ is the second Sculpture by the Sea winner to be installed in the gardens.
