Kelowna Neighbourhoods: Kelowna Highway

Highway 97 runs through Kelowna British Columbia attracting strip malls with restaurants and grocery stores, hotels and motels, plus the big box departments stores and car lots, plus much more.

This zone stretches from the bridge at the south end as far as the Kelowna International Airport to the north, a 13 kilometer drive. Everything you could wish for exists along this corridor including malls like the Capri Mall at Gordon drive and Orchard Plaza and Orchard Park malls at Cooper Road which hold over 170 brand name shops.

There are the major box store such as Walmart, Rona, Target, and Home Depot, and every auto dealer you can think of, as well as major motorcycle dealers. The strip malls include small organic markets right up to the major grocery stores, as well as coffee shops and boutique shopping.

There is the Parkinson Recreation Centre with indoor pools and large sports fields, with tennis courts and the Apple Bowl which is great for track running or taking in a local Sun football game.

At the north end of town you will find the picturesque Shadow Ridge Golf Course and just beyond that is the Okanagan University campus and the Kelowna International Airport which brings travellers from all over the world for the spectacular four season lifestyle.
