Diving near Orosei Part One
Erfahrene Taucher finden an der Küste Sardiniens zahlreiche Gelegenheiten, die Unterwasserwelt ausführlich zu erkunden. Der Tauchgang an der KT12 in der Bucht vor dem Hafen von Orosei im Süden Sardiniens ist dabei ein „must“. Die KT12 war ein in Livorno nach Plänen der deutschen Kriegsmarine gebautes Transportschiff und wurde auf der Jungfernfahrt von Livorno nach Cagliari vom englischen U-Boot „Safari“ torpediert. Zwei der Torpedos gingen fehl, der dritte sprengte den Bug ab. Es bieten sich daher zwei Tauchgänge an: einer am 68 Meter langen buglosen Schiff und der andere am ca 500 Meter entfernten Bug. Beide liegen auf knapp 35m Tiefe, was eine Tauchzeit von ca 15 Minuten bedeutet, Zeit genug, das Wrack detailliert in Augenschein zu nehmen.

Diving the KT12 wreck with Sardinia Divers
While travelling down the east coast of Sardinia we read about the famous KT12 wreck; an armed German cargo ship that was sunk in the Gulf of Orosei.
Being rated as one of the most beautiful wrecks of the Mediterranean with its famous aft deck gun, it did not disappoint!
