New Orthodox martyrs of Soviet persecutions of the Church ☦️
New Christian martyrs of Orthodox Church in the former Soviet Union. Saints murdered by red bolsheviks (communist NKVD) during Lenin´s and Stalin´s rule. Marxist persecution of the Christians in the USSR (thousands of monks, priests, clergy and laymen were murdured, shot or deported into concentration camp, thousands of Orthodox churches were bombed, vandalized and desecrated and turned into storage houses or sports halls). This was the biggest mass persecution of the Christians - the Christians Church ever experienced yet since times of Diocletion and early Roman Church. 1920 s - 1930 s sent dozens of thousands of Christians martyrs into heaven. Second World War came as punishment upon godless and antichristian Soviet communist regime for its horrifying crimes against the Holy Orthodox Church.

World's Largest Mosaic arrives to decorate Belgrade's Cathedral
World's largest mosaic, 15 000 m2, 3 millions pieces of rocks, will decorate St. Sava Belgrade's Main Cathedral. These works of Art should be completed in 2019 when Belgrade's Patriarchate will celebrate it's 800th Anniversary.
In 1219 st. Sava, equal to the Apostles, gained independence for the Orthodox Archdiocese of Serbian and Coastal Lands and became first Serbian Archbishop. St. Sava Translated the Liturgical and Biblical works to Serbian-Slavonic, gathering all Serbian tribes to be loyal to Orthodoxy and most holy Church of Constantinople, instead error-full Rome.
The images of glorious and holy Apostles Peter and Paul were first carried in to the Cathedral, so this project would be successful as was mission of the two glorious Apostles.

Metropolitan Hilarion's Word to Fr. Christopher [2011 re-upload]
Metropolitan Hilarion speaks to the newly-ordained deacon, Fr. Christopher Johnson, during his visit to our parish on May 21 and 22, 2011. Fr. Christopher was ordained a deacon on his nameday, May 9/22, 2011 (also the 10th anniversary of the founding of our parish), and is one of the founders of the Holy Apostles parish. In the present day, Fr. Christopher is a priest at our parish.
Metropolitan Hilarion spoke these words to the people:
Today we enjoyed the Divine Liturgy. At the latter part of the Divine Liturgy we experienced a great joy, in the celebration of the ordination of Christopher to the diaconate. I want to congratulate him, his wife Dorothy, and the parents, all of the parishioners, all of you, with this great joy, the imparting of God's Holy Spirit upon this man Christopher to serve the Holy Church as a deacon.
Then, he spoke these words to Fr. Christopher:
May God grant you His many blessings; love for the beauty of God's house, as it said in the prayers, patience, compassionate love for those who come to the church, so that you will always serve God in purity, with great faith, and on to the salvation of your soul. So may God grant you good health, and many years in the service of the Holy Church.

Russian Orthodox Chant: The Angel Spoke to Mary
Here I present the Russian Orthodox Chant: The Angel Spoke to Mary.
In the 1st chapter of the book of Luke, beginning with the 26th verse and continuing on through the 38th verse we read of the encounter between Mary, the virgin mother of our redeemer Jesus, and the Angel Gabriel:
26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed[a] to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And he came to her and said, Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you![b] 29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. 30 And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.34 And Mary said to the angel, How will this be, since I am a virgin?
35 And the angel answered her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born[d] will be called holy—the Son of God. 36 And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God. 38 And Mary said, Behold, I am the servant[e] of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word. And the angel departed from her.

Located in beautiful Ventura County, California, St. Demetrios has served the surrounding area for over 25 years. The St. Demetrios community has 165 Orthodox families.
It's more than just a Sunday church; it's a support group and source of strength for people, Kyriacou said. Sunday services include Orthodox study and Sunday school with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m., but there are many other events throughout the week. Each month the church feeds about 300 homeless individuals at the Ventura County Rescue Mission, and the grandparents of the church host Greek dance lessons for the community at no charge. The church hosts weekly meetings for Bible study sessions, baking groups, Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops, a women's group, potlucks and barbecues to create a family atmosphere. Everyone here is related somehow through blood or through a spiritual relationship, Kyriacou said. That doesn't mean church members are all Greek, he said. In fact, fully Greek families are a minority, with the majority consisting of blended Greek members and individuals who aren't Greek in heritage. Being Greek is not the important part here, he said. Loving Christ and being Christian is the important part. Church and state are not separate in Greece, so the culture and religion are intertwined, he said. For example, the Greeks incorporate symbols of the circle in their dancing and daily life because of the spiritual significance of eternity. When dancing, Greeks will often circle something three times to represent the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The culture and faith go hand in hand, Kyriacou said. Like the fingers on a hand, you can't separate them. After the Western Catholic Church of Rome broke apart from the Eastern Orthodox Church in 1054, the differences between the Catholic and Greek Orthodox faiths became more engrained. For example, unlike Catholics, followers at St. Demetrios believe the Virgin Mary is holy but still born of sin, use icons to enhance prayer but do not worship them and don't believe one person such as the Pope can have ultimate authority. Greek Orthodox priests can also have a wife and children if they are married before they're ordained. We're established on Scripture and tradition, and it's a Christcentered church, Kyriacou said. We invoke saints but don't worship saints. We ask them to pray for us as we would ask anyone to pray for us.

The Top 10 Heresies of the Eastern Orthodox Church
The Top 10 Heresies of the Eastern Orthodox Church. (see the website)
Part One of the video series The Top 100 heresies of the Eastern Orthodox Church.
We do not believe that! or That man knows nothing about Orthodoxy! are the continual mantras of the Orthodox about Protestant and Evangelical analysis and conclusions about their beliefs. Protestants for instance do not believe you can dissect God in the way the Orthodox think they can, and thus we do not accept you can become one with God but in his energia not essence, it's just blasphemy saying you will be one with him at all. In a similar way the Orthodox will never ever say Yes we accept Christ as a semi Saviour by involving a priest in the administration of Grace, or that God topping you up on saving grace in a life long process through priestcraft is another gospel, but it is, and is called the heresy of sacerdotalism, a heresy they miss off their list of early heresies, because that is THEM.
TOP 10.
1) They have a different God. They deny the Holy Trinity because of Theosis.
2) A false gospel by which we are saved.
3) A fake bible:
4) Apostolic Succession.
5) They are not part of the new covenant.
6) Metousiosis - or holy cannibalism.
7) Chrismation.
8) Triple Baptism.
9) They deny Everlasting Hell fire.
10) Mariolatry.
They say Mary has the attributes of God. This leads to both the overt and the covert worship of Mary, and multiple Mary heresies.
Russia's Old Believers preserve traditional ways of worship
(22 Jul 2017) LEADIN:
Russian Old Believers, descendants of dissident Christians who split from the Russian Orthodox Church in the 17th century, are preserving their traditions which date back to medieval times.
STORYLINE:
The bells call the faithful to church.
This is no an ordinary Sunday service, these are Russia's Old Believers, sometimes also called 'Old Ritualists' who have come to Malinovsky skete (monastery) from all over the region to attend worship.
The Old Believers sect, which rejects many trappings of modern life, split from the Russian Orthodox Church in the 17th century in protest at a number of reforms to Russian Orthodoxy.
Many of the changes were minor - the number of fingers used in the sign of the cross, the spelling of Jesus' name, how many times hallelujah was said in prayer - but the Old Believers considered any change heretical and refused to go along.
Father Alexander, rector of the Malinovsky skete, says Russia was being infused with Western values, which Old Believers rejected.
The separation of the church began in Russia. It was because they wanted to distance the country from the beliefs of their ancestors. The religion that was in Russia started to be uncomfortable for some, most likely, for Western Europe. Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich was raised under Western education and had Western teachers, says Father Alexander.
Today there are estimated 1 to 2 million living Old Believers in Russia.
The Russian Orthodox Church excommunicated them and the czars persecuted them. Many left Russia or moved to the Siberian taiga (forest) where they could pass the old rites down to their children in peace.
But the Russian revolution forced many remaining Old Believers out for good when the Soviets tried to squash their religion and collective farms threatened their livelihood.
Father Alexander says Russian Orthodox Church and Old Believers have tolerable, but not yet friendly relations, because the pain of wrongdoings are still fresh in the memory of Old Believers.
They came and made a mess in our place, our house and then they themselves forgave us for that. Well, now our relations (with Russian Orthodox church) are not bad, they are tolerable, says Father Alexander.
Even though Malinovsky skete is hard to reach, people still come here from all over Nizny Novgorod region every weekend.
On a busy Sunday there would be dozens praying, but during weekdays the service would be attended by only one or two believers, as the skete is far from big cities.
Mother Tatyana, an Old Believer nun, needs help getting to the church due to her old age, but she is a strong believer and would not miss a Sunday service.
Tatyana still keeps up with all the ancient traditions, and carries her prayer beads with her wherever she goes.
These prayer beads, this is a weapon against dark forces, against the devil. All monks walk with these in their possession. You pray with it during the service, at the dining table. Wherever you are it always has to be in your hands, explains Mother Tatyana.
Father Alexander demonstrates the unique way which Old Believers make the sign of the cross, using two fingers, whilst Russian Orthodox faithful use three.
But not everyone is so lucky to have the health to travel so far to receive the blessing of an Old Believer priest.
For this reason, Father Alexander takes a few hours after the service to visit those elderly members of the congregation who cannot make the long journey.
Elderly parishioner Evgeniya greets him with a traditional song.
Father Alexander takes time to talk to all those needing his advice and to bless their homes before returning to the skete.
The life at the skete is simple - gardening, praying and taking care of church's territory.
