FREE & BUDGET FRIENDLY THINGS TO DO IN OSAKA! | Backpacking Japan Vlog 1
I started off my Japan Backpacking Trip in the City of Osaka and with 2 days in Osaka I decided to see how many budget friendly and free things there are to do in Osaka!
This is what I found:
Osaka Castle Grounds - Free Thing To Do in Osaka.
Abeno Harkukas Viewing Platform - Free Thing To Do in Osaka.
Walking Around the Crazy areas of Shinsekai and Dotonbori - Free Thing To Do in Osaka.
Dotonbori Ferris Wheel - Budget Thing To Do in Osaka - 600Yen.
As well as exploring Osaka, because this was my first stop in Japan I needed to exchange my JR Pass in Osaka Station for an actual JR Pass. Because I'm travelling I got my JR Pass sent to my Hostel in Taiwan.
I also needed to get a Sim Card in Japan so went into BIC Camera's in Namba to get a 30 day travel Japan Sim Card with 3GB of Data. It worked in my phone but unfortunately the 3GB only lasted me 1 week in Japan!
I stayed at Air Osaka Hostel which is a bit further out of the City and very small but because of this it benefits from slightly cheaper rates than hostels in the Centre of Osaka so I recommend checking it out.

›››We would recommend staying at an accommodation around Dotonbori, Namba or DenDen Town. Both are central to where all the fun touristy things are! On our second visit we stayed in Namba Town and mostly everything was walking distance away.
›››Purchase an Osaka amazing pass! This pass is a definite bang for your buck and really allows you to see what the city of Osaka has to offer. This pass allows you free access to many attractions, discounts for certain things and unlimited access to the subway!!! It was amazing!
›››Arrive to attractions EARLY in the morning. A lot of attractions can get over-crowded during prime time. Jim and I woke up early everyday and really enjoyed the quiet, peacefulness of the attractions we visited. For example, Osaka Castle and Shitennoji can get really crowded.
›››Book accommodations ahead of time especially during peak season as they get booked up fast and will be more expensive at a later date.
›››Peak season is during cherry blossom and autumn foliage times
›››Be prepare for a lot of walking!
›››Bringing a power bar - a major key if you have camera, cell phone, and etc. This is also handy if you have only one travel outlet adapter which can be very expensive ($10-$15 per adapter) to allow you to charge multiple devices.
›››For travelling groups: airbnb hands down. I found that there are more than plenty of listings around 3000-5000 yen that could accommodate 2-4 people. Far below the cost of a traditional hotel lodging.
›››Cross reference your itinerary to your potential accommodation. Google maps is a big help to figure this out. Make sure your accommodation is in close proximity to a train station.
›››My last final advice would be to CHECK THE REVIEWS!
Reading the reviews always gave me good insight on the amenities and cleanliness, the two things for me thats really important. Last thing you want is to come back to a place with dirty washrooms, no wifi, or no a/c in the middle of summer.

close to it was the TEMPOZAN FERRIS WHEEL. we had our lunch TEMPOZAN MARKET PLACE. moving along, we also went to OSAKA CASTLE, then to SHITENOJJI TEMPLE. we also visited the HARUKAS 300. ending the day, we drop at DOTONBORI for our dinner.

Namba Walk is a half mile underground shopping spanning from Namba Station on the west to Nippombashi station on the east. Just a few steps from Nippombashi station is the famous Kuromon Ichiba Market (黒門市場). Osaka, Japan Night Walking Tour - Sennichimae Doguyasuji - Den-Den Town - Shinsekai - Tennoji ????【4K】
Is it safe to walk around Osaka, Japan at night? In this video, I walked from Sennichimae Doguyasuji shopping street to Den-Den Town (Nipponbashi) to Shinsekai to Tennoji area.
Sennichimae Doguyasuji (千日前) shopping street dedicated to selling household goods, kitchenware, pottery & tools.
Den-Den Town aka Nipponbashi (日本橋) is known for its many shops which specialize in furniture, tools, and otaku interests such as electronics, anime, manga, and collectibles. Nipponbashi is often compared to Akihabara Electric Town, its equivalent (in terms of focus) in Tokyo.
Shinsekai (新世界) is an old neighbourhood located next to south Osaka City's downtown Minami area. The neighbourhood was created in 1912 with New York as a model for its southern half and Paris for its northern half. At this location, a Luna Park amusement park operated from 1912 until it closed in 1923.
Tsūtenkaku (通天閣, meaning Tower Reaching Heaven), owned by Tsūtenkaku Kanko Co., Ltd., is a tower and well-known landmark of Osaka, Japan and advertises Hitachi. It is located in the Shinsekai district of Naniwa-ku, Osaka. Its total height is 103 m; the main observation deck is at a height of 91 m.
Abeno Harukas (あべのハルカス) is 300 meters tall and has 62 floors, making it the tallest building in Japan. The reconstruction began in January 2010, and opened on March 7, 2014

There are just so many restaurants in Dotonbori and Hozenji Yokocho, so hope you can watch this video before you travel and you can have an idea before you visit Osaka, Japan????

1. Glico Running man (Dotonbori symbol sign)
Glico Running man sign is right next to Ebisu-bashi, beside the Dotonbori canal (Guided by local, TOP 5 Places where you should take Selfy and photo in Dotonbori Osaka !! #121:
2. Kani Doraku (Giant crab)
It is one of the symbol of Dotonbori. Usually it costs between 5,000 JPY to 10,000 JPY per person.
3. Bikkuri Donkey (Hamberg steak restaurant)
One of my favorite Hmaber steak chain restaurant in Japan.
Even it's a chain restaurant, their hamberg steak is so good !!
4. Botejyu (Okonomi-yaki, Teppan-yaki restaurant)
Okonomi-yaki is a Osaka's soul food, and this restaurant has over 70 years history!!
5. Honolulu coffee
This is a really good place to take a rest in Dotonbori!!
6. Osaka Ohsho
Osaka Ohsho (Gyoza no Ohsho) is a really popular Japanese Chinese food restaurant in Japan.

7. Kukuru (Huge Octopus :Kukuru Konamon-Museum)
Kukuru is traditional Takoyaki restaurant! They focus on using good Octopus compare to other Takoyaki!

Juhachi ban is really good Takoyaki restaurant! Their Takoyaki is so tasty and good!!

Hozenji Yokocho is super traditional Japanese look tiny street.

You can enjoy 3 different kinds of Dango, price is 200 JPY (2 USD)!
It is really good for snack! They have Mitrashi (Sweet soy sauce), Matcha, and Kinako (Soybean powder) tastes !!
13. Kushikatsu Daruma (Man's huge face)
Kushikatsu is traditional Osaka food!
Kushikatsu is a deep fried skewer! Their Kushikatsu is really good!
Make sure, try Kushikatsu before you leave Osaka!!
14. Kinryu Ramen (Huge dragon)
Kinryu is very classic Ramen restaurant! It is not fancy, but you can try the classic Ramen taste in Namba, Osaka.
