Quick and Easy Osaka or Kyoto Transportation to and from Kansai Airport
Options are easier to and from Kansai to Osaka than to and from Kansai to Kyoto. Kyoto is different. We find it easier to use Yasaka Transport and pay the extra Yen than dealing with a train to Kyoto and then taxi or subway after a 14 hour flight.
English-speaking personnel at Kansai will explain all the options.

☆Bits of knowledge〜Taxi〜
To the average cost conscious traveler in Japan's large cities, taxis are an expensive and unnecessary alternative to the efficient public transportation. However, taxis are often the only way of getting around once trains and buses stop operating around midnight, resulting in a sudden increase in their demand, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, when long lines and waiting times at taxi stands at train stations are not uncommon.
In smaller cities, the countryside and in Kyoto, public transportation tends to be less convenient, thus taking a taxi from the nearest train station to your destination can be a good alternative. If you travel in groups of three or more people, taxis can also be an economical option on shorter distances.

Take the Easy JR Haruka Express Train Kyoto-Kansai Airport
Bus, shuttle service or train are the common forms of transportation from Kyoto to Kansai Airport (Osaka). Two great shared shuttle services are: MK and Yasaka.
Both were fully booked so we took a taxi to Kyoto Station, and the JR Haruka Express. It is a direct service train with only 2 stops and ends in Kansai Airport. Simple!

Bonus tip: Karaoke
My favorite travelhack for what to do when I want a break but don’t want to go all the way back to my hotel!
I mean sure you could always go to a cafe, but why not do karaoke? It’s pretty cheap in the daytime so it’s a great way to get off your feet and relax without being in a public place. Plus you get to sing karaoke lol

China's first new energy “sky train” runs trial operation in Chengdu
China's first “sky train” was put into trial operation on Monday in the southwestern city of Chengdu. China follows Japan and Germany to be the third country in the world to develop such technology.
Located in Sichuan Province, Chengdu’s rugged landscape has given rise to the innovation of many different transport solutions. The sky train, which is attached to its rail on the top, finished its first test run in September and from Monday was officially put on trial.
Chief designer of the project, Zhai Wanming, estimated that the cost of the Sky Train would be between 12.5% and 20% of that of an underground metro line.
The speed of the sky train is up to 60 kilometers per hour, and can hold over 100 passengers in each of its two cabins. It is also powered by lithium batteries, a new energy resource.
They are also said to be cheaper and easier to build than underground metro systems.
Assuming a successful trial run, sky trains are expected to be rolled out in other sightseeing spots across China next year.
