The exhibition focusses on the Nazi Occupation of Kraków, 1939–1945.
It is based in the former administrative building of Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Factory at 4 Lipowa Street, Kraków.
The tour takes you from the summer of 1939 to the outbreak of war, the Nazi occupation, the Jewish Ghetto, Płaszów labour camp and ends with the Hall of Choices – a sculptural installation symbolising the ethical dilemmas encountered during war.
You can also visit Oskar Schindler’s office which has been preserved in the former factory’s administrative building.

The museum in Oskar Schindler's factory. Krakow, Poland.
In 1939 Schindler obtained an enamelware factory in Kraków, Poland, which employed around 1,750 workers, of whom a thousand were Jews at the factory's peak in 1944.
The former factory building in Krakow was opened in 2010 as a museum that documents what happened.
The museum presents the war by a large multimedia classrooms, with 30 different data stations, 15 projectors, over 100 speakers and 40 cameras.

We visited the Schindler Factory Museum in Krakow, Poland to learn more about the man who was instrumental in saving over 1,200 Jews from Nazi concentration camps. Afterwards we visited Marchewka Z Groszkiem restaurant for delicious Polish food and Old Town Krakow.

Housed in the former administrative building of Oskar Schindler factory, Emalia, is a museum that tells the story of Schindler and the Jewish prisoners of Plaszow who were the inspiration for Steven Spielberg's hit movie, Schindler's List.

The Schindler Factory is one of the landmarks of World War II, not only in Krakow, but, thanks to the famous film by Steven Spielberg, worldwide
Needless to add that it is also a positive sign, because it is a place in which many lives were saved, otherwise condemned to the concentration camp.
Today the factory is one of the departments of the Historical Museum of Krakow, and hosts various exhibitions, a permanent exhibition and various occasional.
The permanent exhibition of the museum is dedicated to the documentation of the Nazi occupation of the city during World War II, and presents the daily life of the inhabitants, the history of the Jewish community in Krakow, the fate of the workers of the factory and, finally, the story of Oskar Schindler himself.
The visit is especially poignant thanks to the story of our guide
Near the factory is the square Plac Bohaterów Getta
The square is surrounded by a messy mix of ancient and modern buildings
Nothing in particular if there were any large metal chairs, a reminder that this is a place of memory
A piece of history of the Jews of Krakow, then a piece of the tormented history of the city
La Fabbrica di Schindler è uno dei luoghi simbolo della II Guerra Mondiale, non solo a Cracovia, ma, grazie al celebre film di Steven Spielberg, in tutto il mondo
Inutile aggiungere che è anche un simbolo positivo, poiché trattasi di un posto nel quale sono state salvate tante vite, altrimenti condannate al campo di concentramento.
Oggi la Fabbrica è uno dei reparti del Museo Storico di Cracovia e ospita varie mostre, una permanente e varie esposizioni occasionali.
La mostra permanente del museo è dedicata alla documentazione dell'occupazione nazista della città durante la II Guerra Mondiale, e presenta la vita quotidiana degli abitanti, la storia della comunità ebraica a Cracovia, il destino dei lavoratori della Fabbrica e, infine, la storia di Oskar Schindler stesso.

Visit Krakow - Oskar Schindler's Factory
Oskar Shindler's Factory opened as a museum in 2010, and accounts how the German industrialist saved over 1,100 Jews during the Holocaust by employing them in his enamelware and ammunitions factories. His life the subject of the novel Schindler's Ark, and the film based on it, Schindler's List.
The second part of the video shows us climbing the tower of The Church of the Virgin Mary in Rynek Glowny, the main square in Krakow, Poland.

When Krakow's Podgorze district became the site of the Jewish Ghetto for Krakow's huge Jewish population, many Germans set up businesses in the area in an attempt to profit from the Nazi invasion of Poland. Oskar Schindler was such a man, but in the end he came to save the lives of over 1,100 Jews that worked in his factory, often at great risk to his own life and at personal expense. A state of the art permanent exhibition chronicling the Nazi Occupation opened in June 2010, and has since become one of Krakow's real gem sites. So much indeed, that it has been nominated in National Geographic's contest for the 7 New Wonders of Poland.

This was our trip to Schindler's Factory in the jewish quater. It has been turned into a museum, not just about Oskar Schindler but about the whole war thing too. It was very interesting being there where all this history took place, so please enjoy this video.

Beginning with 11 June 2010 visitors have the opportunity to see a new exhibition titled Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939--1945 which will be on display at the former administrative building of Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory at 4 Lipowa Street. The facility has recently been transformed into a new branch of the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków.
The exhibition is primarily a story about Kraków and its inhabitants, both Polish and Jewish, during World War Two. The whole museum uses many state-of-art means of exprssion and its narration is deeply moving. Come and visit!
