Oslo Island Hopping: Hovedøya and Langøyene
The islands in the Oslo Fjord are easily reachable by ferry from Aker Brygge, in front of City Hall. In this video we visit two of the islands.
You pay for the ferry by using a regular public transportation ticket. If you already have a buss pass or Oslo Pass, you don't need to purchase an additional ticket.
The easiest way to purchase a public transportation ticket in Oslo is to use the Ruter Android or Iphone app:

There are 11 large islands and a number of smaller islands in the inner Oslo Fjord. The most visited islands are Hovedøya, Gressholmen, and Langøyene.
Hovedøya is the largest and closest one to downtown Oslo. On Hovedøya there is at least one beach, and a number of flat rock (svaberg in Norwegian) swimming spots around the island. There is also at least one café and one restaurant on the island. The Revierhavnen Kro restaurant is located inside of the marina on the island, and you may need to reserve a table as the marina is normally not accessible to the public.
Langøyene is the large island that is the furthest away from Oslo. It has a long beach, and a large grass plain. This is the only island where overnight camping is allowed. Langøyene was originally two islands close together, but in the 40's and 50's, the sound between them was used as a landfill. Eventually the two islands got joined together into one big island by all the garbage. You should never drink the water from Langøyene because it is contaminated.
Gressholmen is an island in between the two others. It is often less crowded than the other major islands.
The ferry goes to other islands as well, but they have lots of vacation homes on them. Therefore, they are not that interesting to visit. These are Bleikøya,, Lindøya og Nakholmen.
To travel from Hovedøya to Langøyene and Gressholmen, you will have to go back to Aker Brygge to transfer to the other ferry route.

FIRST TIME IN A CAMPER VAN! (camping in Norway)
Back with a new #MarVe vlog! Had so much fun to try for the first time to be in a camper van with Martin Solhaugen and his Dad! These two Norwegian boys are so fun to be with and they made sure that my first camping in Norway will be memorable :) This is not my first road trip experience in Norway, if you've seen my other Norway travel vlogs, you know that we went on a road trip to Geilo and also when we visited the Lofoten islands early 2019! Not gonna lie that I miss solo travel vlogs, you all know I do full time travel but i'm happy that I get to publish another Marve vacation vlog :) As a pisces woman, i'm used to being the beach and enjoy swimming at the ocean. But camping in nature is actually pretty fun too though I wish we could've stayed a little bit longer :) Now that i'm back in Oslo, Norway, I will try my best to edit and publish a lot of travel vlogs this week or even try to do daily vlogs before our next trip! We will have more summer road trips together so stay tuned for more couple vlogs! hehehe

Cheap things to do in Oslo, Norway
I'm back with another travel vlog! This was taken 2 months ago from my recent Europe trip when I visited my good friend Martin Solhaugen and did some cheap things to do in Oslo, Norway because we're always about that budget life! I was only there for 4 days but I can't wait to explore more of Norway when I come visit next year!!! Also tried the legit Norwegian salmon and Norwegian beer on my first night which was absolutely amazing!
