Oslo city - Norwegian fishermen selling fish in Oslo Harbor - Oslo attractions
Fisherman stand in their boats selling fresh caught fish and shrimps in Oslo Harbor (Oslo Harbour) close to the fashionable Aker Brygge harbor area. The fish on sale appear to be European Flounder (Latin name: Platichtys flesus) or in Danish Skubbe, a member of the flat fish family, Cod (Latin name:Gadus morhua) or in Danish Torsk and shrimps (fresh and cooked shrimps). I am a little bit in doubt whether the Cod (Torsk) that they are selling are indeed Cod? There mouths appear to be very narrow and pointed for a Cod? Does anyone have an opinion?

Many of these are on the Bygdøy Peninsula, including the waterside Norwegian Maritime Museum and the Viking Ship Museum, with Viking ships from the 9th century..
Norway's Oslo Fjord Sea Bass (Runar Kabbe)
The sea bass has only been identified in the Oslo Fjord for the last 10 years. With warmer water conditions in recent years this hard fighting fish has become popular for the fly fisherman. The Norwegian Sea Bass are between 2 and 6lbs and need be pursued early mornings in the summer. Runar Kabbe has been the major contributor in opening up the knowledge and developing the techniques to take these fish with the fly. Runar's DVD will be coming out this December.

Why not take a trip to Southern Norway? Many people already know about the lovely nature of the Northern and the Western parts of Norway. We think that the Southern parts are underestimated, as there are many hidden treasures here.
The video starts up at Konglungen in Asker, then moves forward to the city Sandvika in Bærum, where the oldest scheduled wooden ferry Rigmor takes its journeys to many islands in the Oslo Fjord. Watch the sea life with all the boats and other ferries in the Oslo Fjord, watch Oslo City hall, Akershus Fortress and Oslo Opera House from the sea side. Also, take a trip to the Fram Polar Ship Museum lying just beside the Norwegian Maritime Museum, go on board on the Fram Polar Ship, and also feel the essence of life underneath the ice level in the North Pole!
The large cruise boats from Color Line are sailing from Kiel to Oslo and vice versa. Also, other large cruiseships are sailing here. There are other car ferries are sailing to Oslo too, like Stena Line from Frederikshavn, and DFDS from Copenhagen. Expect a lovely view from the sundeck on these ships, and enjoy the views of e.g. Oscarsborg Fortress, Drøbak city, and a lot of the islands and peninsulas in the Oslo Fjord.
The video also shows the very southern parts of Norway, like Søgne outside Kristiansand. The lovely marina at Trysnes offers fishing and nice sea life for their visitors. We filmed under water with our GoPro camera, and you can look at crabs, jellyfish and some of other sea creatures as well.
Then finally the video takes you to the island Tjøme, and The End of Earth (Verdens Ende), where you may look at the very special archipelaog of smooth rocks. In 2012, the famous photographers Peter Farago and Ingela Klemetz-Farago in collaboration with Chanel had their outdoor exhibition Northern Women in Chanel. The video is produced on private interest for local tourist destination marketing, so we had no contract before making it.

Short weekend trip back to Oslo, where we did our uni exchange in 2013-2014. Missing a lot the good old days and everyone I got to meet!
We took the ferry to the Oslo islands and spent the day fishing and enjoying the great views there.

Oslo to Bergen, Norway by Train through the mountains and Boat through the fjords
We’re going to take you on one of the most spectacular train rides in all of Europe: starting in Oslo, we’re heading cross-country through fascinating mountain terrain, passing lakes and rivers and waterfalls, and then by boat through a vast fjord, finally we will be arriving later in the day at the ancient capital of Norway the town of Bergen. This special trip is called Norway in a Nutshell. Showing you a big cross-section of the country in just one day.

The scenery keeps getting more spectacular as we climb through the central regions of Norway, getting a little bit like Switzerland with tall mountains in the distance and glaciers, with lakes where the water is clear blue color.
We change trains mid-way at Myrdal and board the Flam railway which is one of the most scenic rides in Europe. It travels about four miles from the mountain tops down through seven lush valleys to the waters below in the Sognefjord, Norway’s largest fjord. There we catch a boat to Bergen through the Sognefjord. There's lots of great scenery during the boat ride, with the mountains towering high above on both sides of this chasm.

While in Norway, My Friend, Knut Fougner, his wife, Ellen Stai, daughter, Katrine Stai Fougner, their dog, Alpen and I went out in their boat on the Oslo Fjord, which is part of the North Sea.
