Snorkeling with Whale Sharks in Oslob Philippines [ GoPro Hero 3+ Black ]

Snorkeling with Whale Sharks in Oslob Philippines
An unforgettable day, swimming with the whale sharks in Oslob, Philippines. Oslob is 2-3 hours south from Cebu City and can be reached by bus. We left Cebu at night time as we heard it's best to snorkel with the whale sharks in the early morning (6 AM).
Snorkeling with the whale sharks cost about PHP1000 (~USD22), almost every dive resort in Oslob offers the trip. Included is snorkel gear, a life vest (that nobody wore) and a lesson before on how to behave next to these giant animals.
It was an unforgettable experience getting so close (but don't touch!) to the gentle whale sharks, they are such beautiful creatures.

Oslob, Cebu Philippines: Whalesharks and Waterfalls (Aguinid Falls)
Oslob, Cebu Philippines was a great place to check out. We unfortunately only had one day to spend here, but we made every second count. We woke up before the sun rose so that we could make sure we were able to go see the whale sharks of Oslob. We were not disappointed. There were whale sharks of all sizes, it was really an incredible experience. After chillin with the whale sharks, we headed up to Aguinid falls to chase some waterfalls. We were in a large group so we weren't able to explore all six waterfalls at aguinid, but we we were able to see three of the six. The falls were really beautiful, and it was a lot of fun climbing up the waterfalls!

OSLOB WHALE SHARKS REAL TALK | SUMILON ISLAND SANDBAR | PHILIPPINES
Oslob and Sumilon island are awesome! The Whale Sharks are definitely a cool experience and the Whale Sharks are amazing animals and so peaceful, just make sure you do your research on it so you know what to expect when you get there as it is VERY touristy and the whale sharks are very tame so do get kicked by people swimming. If you are not a confident swimmer and think you will also kick them you do have the option of observing them from the boat.
Sumilon Island is about 1 km off the coast of Cebu next to Oslob, it is an amazing island aswell! The only thing to check before is the tide, you only have a small window to catch the gorgeous sandbar that reveals itself at low tide!

BAD EXPERIENCE SWIMMING WITH WHALE SHARKS IN OSLOB CEBU PHILIPPINES
BAD EXPERIENCE SWIMMING WITH WHALE SHARKS IN OSLOB CEBU PHILIPPINES
Whilst doing research on Swimming with Whale Sharks in Oslob, Cebu, not once did we come across a bad review. We must have been looking in the wrong places, as we ourselves had quite an eye-opening experience. Yes the 'experience' itself was incredible to be able to get so close to these beautiful, calm creatures, but at what cost for the sharks?

CEBU CITY TO OSLOB | GETTING TO THE WHALE SHARKS | VLOG 19
We are officially in the Philippines!
We spent our first few days staying in a swish resort on Mactan Island, a reward ourselves for the month long hostel experiences through Japan and Taiwan. Nothing much to see, just us drinking Old Fashions at 10am, lazing by the pool and eating hotel famous club sandwiches (our weakness!)
So finally we are in the real Philippines, taking long buses, jeepneys and tricycles to get to Oslob to swim with the whale sharks, the reason we came to Cebu and it certainly delivered!

Road to Oslob from Cebu City to see the Whale Sharks
This is a video out the back window of a Toyota passenger van from Cebu City to Oslob in the Philippines. The drive takes between 2.5 and 3 hours and this clip was taken early in the morning on a Galaxy S8+. This tropical coastal road is stunning during sunrise.

OSLOB Whale Shark watching and SUMILON island vlog - Cebu, Philippines / Filipina Solo Traveler
I paid Php 1,100 for the package of OSLOB Whale shark watching and Sumilon island boat and entrance. I spent around Php 400 for the nice lunch with coconut juice. Snorkelling with whale sharks. Travel tips: go early in the morning, environmental laws only allow short period. Double the price for foreigners. Whale sharks eat plankton or shrimp through filter feeding, so are harmless to humans. Oslob, South Cebu. Philippines Season 3, Travel Vlog 94.

Swimming with Whale Sharks. Oslob, Cebu, Philippines 2014
My third encounter with the whale sharks. This time I brought a camera.
FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH THE WHALE SHARK (BUTANDING), OSLOB CEBU TOUR 2019 | CHEY.A.SHUTTERBUG
First Encounter with the Whale Shark (Butanding) Oslob Cebu Tour 2019
#oslob #butanding #whaleshark
My husband and I went on a tour for the 4th of July weekend. We traveled to Cebu and Bohol to experience the wonders of nature. We are so blessed to experience such beauty, we will not exchange it for anything else. We are were both in love with what Cebu and Bohol has to offer and we are going back if time permits.
The Oslob trip was not in our initial plan. We were convinced by a lot of locals to experience Whale Watching/Swimming. We booked our trip a day prior to our trip and it was not a bad decision at all.
Below is the video that I have compiled during that trip. Enjoy watching guys!
