43 years on should Oswestry be in England or Wales?
As a follow up to the original we thought it seemed inevitable to ask the same questions on this day in 2015.

Oswestry Town Centre 9th Dec 2017
The quiet little town of Oswestry in the winter snow; hope you enjoy. Pictures I took using Canon powershot 120s took over 2 hours to take all these pictures early morning when even the houses were asleep. I used PowerDirector 15 to make the picture video and used free copy-right Roxio music to accompany it. It took all evening to put together and upload it.

Walks in Shropshire: Exploring Whittington Castle
Harriet and I take a less than serious walk around Whittington Castle on a busy Saturday morning.
Whittington Castle is a castle in northern Shropshire, England, owned and managed by the Whittington Castle Preservation Fund. The castle was originally a motte-and-bailey castle, but this was replaced in the 13th century by one with buildings around a courtyard whose exterior wall was the curtain wall of the inner bailey. As a castle of the Welsh Marches, it was built on the border of Wales and England very close to the historic fort of Old Oswestry.

We've recently been given copies of over 500 photos of Oswestry from the 1960's and believe they were taken around 1962/63. If you happen to know the actual dates please say so in the comments.
We've gone out and taken photos and tried to replicate them as accurately to the original photo to show how things have changed over the past 50 years. We will be releasing a new video every Sunday at 6 pm for the next 10-11 weeks featuring different parts of Oswestry.

One of the most prominent legends concerning Whittington Castle regards the Marian Chalice, thought by some to be the Holy Grail. According to this legend, Sir Fulk FitzWarin, the great grandson of Payne Peveril and one in the line of guardians of the Grail and King Arthur. A story from the 13th century states that the Grail was kept in a private chapel of the castle when Sir Foulke was there.
