Otago Central Rail Trail, New Zealand
Built between 1891 and 1907 the railway brought progress and development to the region linking Central Otago to Dunedin. Closed in 1990 the first New Zealand's rail trail was opened to the public in 2000 and today it is a enormous success estimated that around 12,000 users walk, cycle or horse ride along it's 150 km every year. Historic buildings (dated over 100 years!), rugged landscapes and lots of joy make part of the trail that can be started/finished either Clyde or Middlemarch. To complete the experience you can catch the train from Middlemarch to Dunedin (Taieri Gorge Railway) and The Seasider, linking Dunedin to Palmerston. I will leave you now to watch the video about my trip done by bike in 2012. It was such an enjoyable experience I would like to share with you.

Would highly recommend to anyone of any cycling ability.
The majority of this video was filmed on a Dji Phantom 3 Advanced but also used and IPhone 6s and a sony Cyber shot.
