In the video I am walking around the capital city area of the island of Curacao. Curacao is an independent country that is under the Kingdom of the Netherlands. There are two main areas of the Capital city. In this video I am in Otrobanda which is near the cruise ship terminal near Fort Rif. In my next video I will be on the other side called Punda.

Otrobanda - World Heritage City - Willemstad - Curacao - 2016
Otrobanda (meaning ‘the other side’) is on the opposite of Punda in Willemstad - Curaçao. This district was developed in the 18th century and nowadays together with Punda forms the main shopping area of Willemstad.

Willemstad é a capital da ilha de Curaçao, localizada no Caribe. O Centro de Willemstad é divido por um canal, que faz a ligação do oceano até o porto. O canal divide o Centro em dois bairros: Punda e Otrobanda.
Tanto Punda como Otrobando possui muitas lojas, shopping, hotéis, bares e restaurantes, entre outras atrações. Os preços são muito bons em alguns itens, principalmente perfumaria e cosméticos. A loja mais famosa é a Penha, fundada em 1708.
Na beira do Canal ficam várias casinhas coloridas, o que motivou o local a ser declarado como Patrimônio Mundial pela UNESCO.
O maior complexo turístico da região é o Renaissance, que inclui hotel, shopping, cassino e o Rif Forte, que é um antigo e restaurado forte com vários restaurantes.

Willemstad is the capital city of Curacao, a Dutch Caribbean island. The floating Queen Emma Bridge connects the Punda and Otrobanda neighborhoods across Sint Anna Bay. Punda was established in 1634, when the Dutch captured the island from Spain. The city center, with its unique architecture and harbor entry, has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Queen Emma Bridge connects pedestrian neighborhoods Punda and Otrobanda, it opens sideways at waterway. Cruise ships dock at the modern designed Otrobanda, in the old town you can admire the many small alleys, the Fort Amsterdam, the floating market, the New Market (Ronde market), the Plein Cafe Wilhelmina, and more to discover. About the Queen Juliana Bridge, which rises as cantaloupe far beyond the city, runs the entire traffic. There is also a nice place for shopping fans.
