Karaoke&Sukiyaki
Went to Sazae San museum and cafe with Haru as she loves that anime! We had wanted to go to a karaoke after we went to the onsen, but seeing as Noa was waiting for us, we postponed it and went there after the museum!^^
had a lot of fun singing the songs that we ALWAYS sing, so we hope you don't mind our awful singing xP (just forward through it if it becomes unbearable xP)
Have you guys gone to karaoke, which songs do you ALWAYS sing when going there?

Visions of Japan
It is with careful consideration that we have chosen Japan as our starting point for our Asia Expeditions. It is an awe-inspiring place: an archipelago of 6,500 mountainous islands spanning over 1,800 miles from north to south. Mount Fuji, Kyoto, Tokyo, Pokemon, Harajuku fashion, sumo, sushi, advanced electronics, maiko (known to us as geisha)—the images we have of Japan are many, but in truth there is far more to explore.
In the north, Hokkaido was, and sometimes still is, Japan's wild frontier, comparable to Alaska in many ways, with long winters and short, but beautiful, summers. In the south, Okinawa is a sub-tropical chain of islands, lush with greenery and lined with white sand beaches. In between, Tohoku is a beautiful, rustic land of stoic people living humbly as farmers and fishermen.
Hokuriku is the less-explored Central-Western area of Japan, known for its mountains, snow, sake, and villages of thatched roof houses. Kansai is the cultural heart of Japan, with the ancient twin capitals of Kyoto and Nara at its center—here you find 17 UNESCO World Heritage sites and hundreds of designated National Treasures”, vibrant cities like Osaka and Kobe, and smaller destinations chock full of surprises like Otsu and Koya-san. Further west, in the Chugoku region, are gems like the canal town of Kurashiki, the floating shrine of Itsukushima at Miyajima, and Hiroshima with its mark on modern history. Other destinations include the islands of Shikoku and Kyushu, steeped in history and rich in natural beauty. And, finally, there’s the metropolis of Tokyo—wonderfully overwhelming, incredibly complex, and the world's safest large city.
The photographic and cultural opportunities in Japan are immense, truly providing something for everyone. Our team guides you through the many nuances of this friendly country, teaching you the history, showing you both the hidden gems and must-see locations, and sharing with you to some of its very best restaurants.
Join us and experience the photographic expedition of a lifetime in the Land of the Rising Sun!

The Oita Prefectural Museum of History (Ōita Kenritsu Rekishi Hakubutsukan) is an excellent museum to learn Oita's history, culture and key attractions. It is located in Usa City at the base of the Kunisaki Peninsula, just a few kilometers away from the Usa Shrine.
At the center of the museum stands a must-see life-size reconstruction of Fukiji Temple's main hall. In stark contrast to the actual hall whose interior and object of worship have faded in color over the centuries, the reconstruction show the splendor of how the hall's interior looked like when it was first constructed more than 800 years ago. The museum also showcases replicas of the Usuki Stone Buddhas and the Kumano Magaibutsu Stone Buddhas.
Facility Information:
Hours: 9:00 to 17:00 (last entry at 16:30)
Closed: Mondays (or following day if Monday is a national holiday), December 28 to January 4
Admission: 310 yen
Level of English: Moderate (good English pamphlet)
Access Information:
Because of poor public transportation service, it would be better to use taxi or retal car.
A taxi ride takes about 20 minutes and 2000 yen from Usa Station or about 10 minutes and 1500 yen from Yanagigaura Station. Usa Shrine is located about five kilometers south of the museum. A taxi ride between the two attractions costs around 1300 yen.
