Devon Country Walk Beavers Newton Poppleford to Otterton Mill return
Our video is a guided walk in Devon. Starting from Newton Poppleford we follow the River Otter in search of the Beavers to Otterton Mill then after a small detour we retrace our steps back to Newton Poppleford. This is an easy walk on grass paths/tracks and very short distances of tarmac road following the River Otter.
Elevation: approx lowest point 2.10m (6.89ft) approx highest point 33.70m (110.56ft) approx ascent 129.90m (399.93ft).
Approx 7 miles allow 2½ - 3 hours using OS Explorer Map 115, Exmouth and Sidmouth. This walk is a return walk with a small detour from Otterton.
Start point: Otter Reach, Newton Poppleford.

Water Mill Demonstration at Otterton Mill
Milling has taken place at Otterton Mill for over 1000 years. This short clip shows Otterton's volunteer millers producing wholemeal flour through the current 300 year old process. Otterton Mill produces it's flour twice a month and welcomes visitors, there is no fee. See ottertonmill.com for dates and times.
Heage Windmill - working flour mill
Built in 1797 and restored in 2002. Heage Windmill, a Grade II* listed building, is the only working, stone towered, multi-sailed windmill in England. Set in the Derbyshire countryside providing spectacular views towards the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
