MPs to meet Archbishop Lwanga over spying priests

A section of Catholic MPs are due to meet the Archbishop of Kampala Cyprian Kizito Lwanga over statements he made recently accusing government of using priests to spy on him and other religious leaders.

The decision followed a demand from Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze, that government should respond to Archbishop Lwanga’s allegations.

Archbishop Lwanga calls for environmental protection

Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga has called for the preservation of the environment to minimize the effects of climate change. The Archbishop who led the Christmas Day mass at Lubaga Cathedral in Kampala also spoke out against the wanton cutting of trees. He urged researchers and innovators to find sources of alternative energy for fuel instead of firewood and charcoal.

Bishop Santus Lino Wanok concectared as the 4th Bishop of the Northern Catholic Diocese of Lira

Bishop Santus Lino Wanok has been consecrated the 4th and new Bishop of the Northern Catholic Diocese of Lira, since the diocese was established in 1968.
He replaces Bishop Emeritus Rev Joseph Franzeli who has been serving since 2005 until 2018, November when he retired. Bishop Wanok was born on April 7th, 1957 at Ukuru Pamach village in Zombo District.
