At Tolono in the early evening, I caught some more rail action at the NS/IC diamonds. An NS local backs west across the IC diamonds to make way for Amtrak's southbound ILLINI.
July 1, 2013 possible rotating wallcloud north northwest of Chrisman, IL.
Was actually heading to Tuscola outlet mall and on the way we planned to check out a little multi cell storm coming southwest across rt 36 near Lovington, IL..Caught a possible cold air funnel inthe eastern side of the 2 cells. Headed for Tuscola from there at which time, we went to the Nike outlet store and by the time we had looked around, a decent looking storm was coming out of Indiana, near Covington, headed sw towards the Chrisman, IL area..I left Mel at the mall (she didnt mind that) and headed east to check it out..Had a little velocity at one time, and had decent structure within it. I believe it also produced a rotating wall cloud. Ended up going about 10-15 miles northwest of Chrisman..

The Illini Railroad Club 2004 Part I
While attending the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign, I was a member of the Illini Railroad Club located below Townsend Hall on Illinois Street. We had an analog layout with an upper and lower yard, diamond crossing, diesel terminal with a turntable, a steam shop, and a few elevators.
Here we see my Conrail GP30 #2245 pulling a string of gondolas along the line. The unit is Proto 2000, and has since been sold. Working under the train tables is Ezekiel Zeke Johnson, who is a huge CB&Q fan, and owned several steam locomotives on our layout.
