OverLook Mountain Woodstock NY April 23rd 2016 Doomsday Fall
A day of fun hiking with my wife the FrogQueen and my dog Nemo at the Overlook Mountain in Woodstock on a sunny windy cool day; that turned into a kind of horror story at the end of the day when I took a deadly fall off a cliff about 10 - 15 feet onto the rocky stones below, and ended up in the Hospital in Kingston New York.
I go with my gut feeling in life and I take chances sometimes that are just not logical but mostly I think about life and things that I think will encourage discussion or thought even if that thought for that moment is totally crazily, insane, even if that thought or action leaves people thinking that I am completely nuts... that is just me! Take it or leave it!
Nevertheless the digital landscape, though is in constant motion and so I need to become more flexible in where and when I decide to do what ever I do...
I always seem to just kind of concentrate on my inner energies and just let go and dramatically it is always kind of resulting in many, many moments of joy and many, many moments of mistakes that cause pain...
This day was one of those days, when I fell off a 20 foot cliff and landed on the rocks below and almost died. PAIN!
My dog Nemo I was told stayed by my side and laid down and even refused to leave when the ranges, and the police showed up with the ambulance to take me to the hospital...
Nemo tried to take care of me, and he tried to make sure I was okay the best that he knew how as a dog that is not trained in Search and rescue...
Nemo a true superhero, wonder dog whom showed his great love for me as this writing turns out to become much, more or less, a kind of synthesis of psychological states of mind and changes, whispering to me the love of life... and on this day as I lay upon the stone covered rocks bleeding two Zen healers from a nearby monastery came by and told my wife the FrogQueen that they wanted to help; they asked for permission to pray and send me healing powers... I woke for a brief moment and seen them and then fell again into a deep sleep...
On the positive side, the mountains were so beautiful as were the blue sky's and the fire tower - the whole day turned out to be an event that will forever leave me in a state of constant motion spiritually as I must now heal my broken body up... for the next time... Chow!
Until the next time... BuckJones ST
NY's GHOST HOTEL= Abandoned Ruins in the Catskills
Please subscribe to us!
Derek Deek Diedricksen treks (5 miles round trip) up Woodstock, NY's Lookout Mountain to film the ruins of the once magnificent 300+ room hotel- The Outlook Mountain House in Woodstock, NY. The hotel on this site burned down THREE times in its history, and was finally rebuilt starting in 1928 out of concrete (when it burned down again). The concrete usage is the only reason the ruins of this hotel, its rear family-mansion, and various other foundations around it still exist. Being TOO remote, this hotel was never as successful as its other region's counterparts such as The Catskill Mountain House. This hotel also stands as one of the very last remaining (even in ruins) of the heyday of the Catskill NY resort boom (which saw its slow death in the 1930s).
Be warned- its a fairly strenuous hike, and this is a region with many rattlesnake habitats. The building is also crumbling and in various states of decay and collapse- so enter at your own risk- or not at all!

5 Top-Rated Hiking Trails in Vermont, US
Following the state's highest ridgelines from the northern border with Canada to the Massachusetts state line in the south, Vermont's Long Trail is America's oldest long distance hiking trail. But day hikers can enjoy segments of the trail, and use the miles of well-maintained side trails to reach the more than 40 summits the Long Trail connects. Because the Long Trail - and the Green Mountains themselves - run north-to-south through the center of the state, they are never far from Vermont's many tourist attractions, making the state a good vacation choice for families with both hikers and non-hikers. Here five Hiking Trails in Vermont, United States
1. Mt. Mansfield
2. Mt. Pisgah
3. Camel's Hump
4. Spruce Peak
5. Mt. Olga
