This Naked Festival is the Shinto ritual held by the Owari Okunitama Shrine which is commonly called Kounomiya Shrine.This year, about 9000 naked men joined this festival and 140,000 spectators watched the pageant.
Many groups of naked fundoshi men carry the Naoizasa bamboos to the shrine for their exorcism. In the final stage about sunset, when God Man appears in the full nude at the front approach, naked men rush to the God Man for touching his body in order to drive evil spirits out of them making a human vortex. God Man's full body was clean-shaved for preventing injury by friction heat.
