This video shows a compilation of photos taken on a day trip to the Oymapinar Dam in the Manavgat area of Turkey.
The Oymapinar Dam is an arch dam that was built on the Manavgat River and is used for the generation of hydroelectric power. It is a freshwater dam 185 metres high with a capacity of around 300 million cubic metres
The Oymapinar Dam is located a little more than 20km from Manavgat town, on the Manavgat River which flows into the Mediterranean sea. It has four underground turbines with a capacity of 540 megawatts and designed and to sit firmly on the underlying rock.
There was some beautiful scenery on our trip to the dam and there are numerous places to stop if you have a car.
Oymapinar Dam is built into a steep gorge and its high wall is an impressive site when driving towards it. The mountain scenery around the dam is stunning. If you are fortunate enough to have time to look around the area you will also find some beautiful wild flowers together with orange and pomegranate trees.
Whether you travel to Oymapinar Dam by car, a jeep safari trip or by coach, you will have memories to last a lifetime.

One of Turkey's largest arch dams, Oymapinar Dam draws the admiration of architecture lovers with its elegant design and scenic location. Just a short drive North of Manavgat, the structure is unique in design features that provide it with extra strength and stability. Nearby you can also visit two major waterfalls, where you can take a boat tour on the Manavgat River or hike the surrounding mountain scenery.
