Drone over Guana Bay & Oyster Pond | St. Maarten

When on the island in December 2018, I shot a lot of drone footage of the island and wanted to share some of it. This footage was taken in Guana Bay and Oyster Pond on the Dutch St. Maarten. The weather on the day I shot this was absolutely beautiful allowing for views of the surrounding islands. Enjoy!

TOURING ST. MAARTEN IN ONE DAY! | 2019 | Maho Beach | Simpson Bay | Oyster Pond

Going back to the island I once lived on for 2 years was amazing! Visiting old spots and seeing old friends was great. Funny enough, I never did the plane watching thing in Maho when I lived down there, so doing it now was a lot of fun. Planning to visit St. Maarten? Oyster Bay Beach Resort St Martin

Oyster Bay or Oyster Pond - Apartments for Less

Oyster Pond or Oyster Bay is a great location on the Atlantic side of Sint Maarten and Saint Martin. It is a very picturesque natural harbour. Babit Point, the peninsula to the left encircles the bay and transforms it to an ideal protected harbour. It is the departure point for the ferry to Saint Barth and the bay has a few restaurants and bars. There are two beaches in close vicinity, Dawn Beach on the Dutch side of Oyster Bay and Coralita Beach on the French side of Oyster Pond.

Whereas the Dutch side is mainly populated by villas and the timeshare managed Oyster Bay resort, the French side conveys a lower profile. There are several attractively priced studios, condos and apartments on the French side. You either walk to Coralita beach or drive to Dawn beach or drive for 15 minutes to Orient Beach. Oyster Pond features a few budget oriented restaurants, small supermarkets, and the bars and restaurants at the harbour.

The accommodation is in most cases operated by individual owners. On the crest of the hill, the Blue Beach apartments represent an excellent value. The former hotel bungalows are converted to attractive condos. The views towards harbour, Saint Barth, and the Ocean are magnificent. This location is ideal, if you look for a quiet place and intend to live on a budget. see here:

One of the apartment property caters for 'clothing optional' guests. This is a great alternative for the much more expensive Club O at Orient Bay.
