To welcome the Year of the Horse in good spirit and positive energy, Pacific Place's Shoals of Prosperity Chinese New Year campaign is filled with wonderful shopping rewards and exhilarating entertainment performances. To echo the message of bringing positive energy in this festivity, in a new twist on the flash mob format, the renowned the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong -- rated as one of the finest youth orchestras in Asia -- serenaded visitors at Pacific Place on 18 January with an impromptu performance of popular Chinese classical pieces, including The Mahjong Heroes, Pearl of the Orient and Below the Lion Rock.

Pacific Place Chinese New Year 2016 Every Bond Matters
(HONG KONG, 14 JANUARY 2016) – Knots are a beautiful constant in our world, from their historic strength binding homes and clothing to their modern place in art, representing flexibility as a thread of unlimited possibilities. With each knot and bond representing a special meaning and New Year’s wish, Pacific Place welcomes its “Every Bond Matters” campaign from 20 January to 22 February 2016, to offer shoppers limitless opportunities for luck and creativity at Chinese New Year. The genuine woven cultural adornments make up a festive backdrop to cherry blossom trees, performances and shopping opportunities as Hong Kong’s foremost luxury mall welcomes the Year of the Monkey.
Putting a modern twist on an ancient Chinese art, Pacific Place is collaborating with Australian macramé and fibre artist Natalie Miller for an East-meets-West Chinese New Year installation. An architect, interior designer and textile artist, Natalie was inspired to move from technology-driven design to fibre arts in order to regain the sense of touch and hand-creation. To adorn Pacific Place, Natalie has tied each and every knot by hand, elegantly interpreting traditional Chinese knots into giant woven chandeliers rich in symbolism, with a blessing and a wish behind every single knot.
Over 10km of thick red ropes were knotted and knit to create this must-see Chinese New Year celebration. Visit the larger-than-life 4.5m x 5.5m knit chandelier at Garden Court and the 6m x 8m chandelier at Park Court, both created completely by hand. Visitors can behold authentic and symbolic knots like the Jixiang Knot representing good fortune and the Pan Chang Knot which consists of eight loops and eight ears, woven from one single length of yarn to form an endless pattern symbolising longevity. The gigantic knit rope centrepiece at Garden Court is an impressive culmination of culture and craftsmanship, and a splendid scene for photos entwined in hand-made blessings.

My name is Dennis. In 2009, I opened this channel to record or document this city. I know something is being changed in next decade(s), or I felt the change have began since 2003, no later in 2046. I want to, at least, save some kind of city life in video form instead of taken photo or written in words. I strongly believe that motion picture and sound recording are much better way to preserve and present in the future when young generation want to get know of Hong Kong.
In May of 2018, I wrote the following statement in below:
.....................................................................................
Hi everyone, thank you for supporting me in fulfilling my childhood dream of making videos.
My parents had always taken a tolerant attitude toward my “capricious”: whether my work is feasible and sustainable... and they never complained about it.
As my father just passed away in May, I am left with no choice but to give up my video making venture.
In Hong Kong where the cost of living is sky high, youtube video making is simply not sustainable by google adsense alone. The revenue produced is way too insufficient for affording a domestic helper, and I must look after my mom all by myself - this is why I must stay very close to her at all times.
Unless my revenue is closed to market rate, or my income can cover a domestic helper, otherwise I can hardly justify any video-related works.
Therefore, from now on everything video will be postponed in terms of year(s).
Thank you, and hope to see you all again in the future.
..............................................................
Because I am the only son of my mother in Hong Kong, and I have to take care of her at home. I almost give up this channel because of high consumption of time and living cost. But I found some extra time.
I live in Fanling, north part of New Territories, so it will include my showtime of traveling back and forth. Because of home care to my old mother, there will be no time other than 9:00 to 16:00 because my mother is staying at the senior daycare center, so before and after that, I will NOT able to do filming.
I understand most of you are looking for high quality of video, e.g. 4K or 8K. But hardware is so important at this post-production, that is, the higher quality video, the higher powerful computer to render video. In recently, I solved matter by paid for PowerDirector apps to make 4K on my Pocophone F1, 1 hour of 4K video = 2 hour to make, besides, the convert 4K file time is around 24 hours......
I will continue to run this channel as long as the time is fit-on-me or I don't see any kind of video job could fit me.
I hope this is clear to everyone.

Story with Pacific Place - Bonnae Gokson
Bonnae Gokson (Entrepreneur and Style Icon)
As a woman of style and purpose, it feels only natural that Bonnae Gokson would choose Pacific Place as home to her C'est La B café . A long admirer of Pacific Place, Bonnae wanted a location that felt homely and relaxed and that fit the mood of the C'est La B venture. Today, the café and Pacific Place complement each other well, both proud of their own unique aesthetic and both providing Hong Kong with a destination that gets people talking. Pacific Place for Bonnae is not just about business though, it is also a place for leisure. And pleasure. Whether visiting the cinema, buying products from the supermarket, or dining in one of the hotels, Bonnae is a regular visitor to Pacific Place, a location she says always feels like home.

ULTRA HD 4K HONG KONG WALKING TOUR - PACIFIC PLACE | IMMIGRATION TOWER | 入境事務大樓 | WANCHAI
#pacificplace #hongkongimmigration #wanchai #hongkong #discoverhongkong
Welcome to our ULTRA HD 4K Hong Kong Walking Tour where we walk from Pacific Place Shopping Mall to Immigration Tower via Lockhart Road then onto Hennessy Road in Wanchai and Connaught Road the back to Pacific Place. This tour is quite comprehensive as one can learn how to walk to the Immigration Department from Wanchai.
'The Immigration Tower (Chinese: 入境事務大樓) is a skyscraper located in the Wan Chai District of Hong Kong completed in 1990.[1] The tower rises 49 floors and 181 metres (594 ft) in height.[2] The Immigration Tower, which stands as the 93rd-tallest building in Hong Kong, is composed entirely of office space.[1] The building houses government offices, principally those of the Immigration Department.[1]Immigration Tower is part of a three-tower complex of government offices surrounding the Gloucester Road Garden. The other two towers are the Wanchai Tower and the Revenue Tower. These government buildings were designed by the Architectural Services Department for the Government Property Agency. The Revenue Tower is nearly identical in design to the Immigration Tower.
Most of the floors in the Immigration Tower are designed as open plan offices, which increases flexibility for tenants. For these floors, the usable floor area is as much as 80% of the gross floor area.[3] The tower incorporates a sky lobby on the 38th storey to facilitate vertical transportation. The building is linked to Wan Chai Station by a long footbridge, and so there are entrances and lobbies at both the ground level and the first floor.
The dominant tenant is the Immigration Department, and the building is heavily visited by members of the public who rely on the department for the issuance of Hong Kong Identity Cards and all types of visa. The lowest levels of the tower are thus served by escalators in order to accommodate the high patronage of the services found there. The Immigration Department maintains several unique facilities in the building. A restricted vault holds a collection of volumes dating back to 1873 which records in detail the births and deaths over the years, including information such as the occupation of new fathers or the causes of deaths. The oldest extant marriage registry is from 1945, as earlier volumes were lost during World War II.[4] The department also maintains a small detention facility on the 13th floor.[5]
There is a giant Philips advertisement on the roof, facing Kowloon, publicised in 2007 as the largest LED display panel in Hong Kong.[6].

'Pacific Place is a complex of office towers, hotels and a shopping centre situated at 88 Queensway, in Admiralty, Hong Kong. The latest phase, Three Pacific Place, is located at 1 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai.[2][3]
The four-level mall is home to over 160 shops and boutiques [4] and one major department store. The complex is also home to three five-star hotels, a boutique hotel, three office towers and 270 serviced apartments.
Pacific Place complex is owned and managed by Swire Properties, with the exception of the three hotels (Conrad Hong Kong, Island Shangri-La and JW Marriott Hotel), in each of which it retains a 20 per cent equity interest.[5] Pacific Place was developed by Swire Properties. Phases One and Two were built on land formerly part of Victoria Barracks, one of the first military compounds in Hong Kong. The land was auctioned by the Hong Kong Government during redevelopment and was successfully bid for by Swire. It was purchased in two tranches in 1985 and 1986 for a total cost of US$1 billion.[6] Phase One opened in 1988.[6] The Conrad International Hotel was completed in 1991.[7][8] Phase Three was completed in 2004.[1] It was developed from old buildings on Star Street, Wan Chai.[6]
The four-level shopping arcade houses both lifestyle and high-end shops in areas ranging from entertainment, dining, accessories to apparel. It houses one department store, Harvey Nichols. A footbridge connects it across Queensway to Queensway Plaza and United Centre. It is connected by tunnels to the Admiralty MTR Station and Three Pacific Place. Escalators connect it to Hong Kong Park.'
