Walters Cove Fishing Resort on Vancouver Island by DeHavilland Beaver Seaplane - July 14, 2017
Welcome to Walters Cove Resort
Walters Cove Resort is located on the remote northwest coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
Our sport fishing resort is located in Kyuquot, which is an area of coastal wilderness that seems to have defied the passage of time. Kyuquot Sound (pronounced “kai-you-cut”), consists of hundreds of islands, inlets, vast stretches of uninhabited coastline and a diverse population of wildlife. Surrounding the area are mist-covered peaks that make you think that you have traveled back to the beginning of time.
Framed within the pristine natural splendor or Kyuquot Sound is Walters Cove Resort, an internationally renowned sport fishing destination, known for its incomparable hospitality, luxurious setting, and high intensity fishing. Until 2014 the resort was under the ownership of West Coast Resorts and operated as The Lodge at Walters Cove. Walters Cove is a remote destination, only accessible by boat or seaplane. Every year, guests come from all around the globe to fish and experience this coastal paradise.
We continue to embrace our status as a small, intimate fishing resort, equipped with large luxury boats and providing exceptional service delivery. We have invested in a fleet of 23 ft custom-built Grady White boats to ensure your ultimate comfort on the water. We hope you will join us for the fishing experience of a lifetime!
First Nations Significance
In 2014, Walters Cove Resort was purchased by the Kyuquot / Checleset (Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k:tles7et’h’ ) First Nation. For thousands of years First Nations people lived harmoniously with nature in what is now known at Kyuquot Sound. Their diet included what is still plentiful in these waters: shellfish and a diverse number of fish species. As stewards of their environment, they continue to have a close personal connection to the area.
Kyuquot Sound is one of the 5 major sounds indenting the west coast of Vancouver Island. To the northwest of Kyuquot Sound is Checleset Bay. To the east is the steep Vancouver Island mountain range, with peaks of over 1500 metres. The Kyuquot and Checleset territories are accessible only by air and water; the road access ends at Fair Harbour. At Fair Harbour, our sister company, Fair Harbour Marina and Campground operates a business consisting of a marina, boat ramp, free and paid parking, fuel station, propane, small store and camping.
This region boasts some of the most pristine temperate rainforest in the world. The community of Kyuquot are proud to be able to share several world-class parks with visitors: Brooks Peninsula Provincial Park, Checleset Bay Ecological Reserve, Tahsish-Kwois Provincial Park, Tahsish River Ecological Reserve, Dixie Cove Provincial Park and Rugged Point Marine Park. Many small islands, bays, beaches, rocky shoals, streams and rivers, lush forests, hills and mountains – these are the many features that make up this incredible land and seascape.

Ucluelet + Tofino - Whitney's Birthday Trip
I definitely still have a lot to learn when it comes to using my Sony camera, my planning of shots and I've just spent the past two days trying to teach myself how to use a new editing software BUT with all of that being said...
Here's a little glimpse into a weekend getaway that I just had with my friends recently.
There was lots of snow, lots of delicious food, a little bit of surfing, a little bit of hiking and a whole lot of good company.
