Beautiful Close Encounter- Swimming with Humpbacks in Moorea

Shot on August 13, 2018 in the waters outside the lagoon of Moorea.

Being in the water with these gentle and curious giants was absolutely mesmerizing, almost seemed to happen in slow-motion. It' was a beautifully heart opening and humbling experience.

This was our second encounter with these two- a male and female teenager. As you will see in the video we swim up to a certain point towards them and then let them come to us. There's never any chasing, either by boat or by swimming.

SAILING FRENCH POLYNESIA (3 Weeks in French Polynesia - Pt. 4) (GoPro Video)

Sailing between Bora Bora, Raiatea, and Taha'a in French Polynesia! During our 3-week trip to French Polynesia in 2016, our final week was spent on a catamaran with TradeWinds. We sailed around the bright, blue waters of Bora Bora, saw a whale and dolphin, swam with stingrays, snorkeled the Coral Garden in Taha'a, toured a vanilla farm, visited a pearl farm, watched a traditional Polynesia dance show at Le Ficus, and enjoyed living on a boat for a week!

Wayfinder Voyages -- Gambiers, French Polynesia

Departing the Galapagos, we face the longest stretch of open water on our sail around the world. It's 3,000 miles to the French Polynesian islands. Our first stop is the Gambiers, one of the lesser-visited groups to the south.

After seventeen days at sea, we arrive at a small group of islands inside a shared barrier reef. It truly is paradise. And the beginning of our three months in French Polynesia.

Polynesian Culture at it's finest. We are absolutely blown away by the experience that is Heiva. It's touted as the biggest event of the year in French Polynesia. Luckily they gave us permission to capture and share the experience with you. From the hip thrusting, to the story telling through song and dance, it's an explosion of Polynesian culture.

While we're in Tahiti we make a quick run to the market, get some of the bureaucratic paperwork started and we set sail for Moorea. It's an action packed look into our lives as sailors and travelers. It's these types of days that make the roller-coaster woes of crossing an ocean melt away. We hope you enjoy sharing this Tahitian experience with us.

What an incredible experience. Probably the best Island Experience I've ever had. We were the only 2 tourists on the island. The locals were incredibly friendly. We ended up staying in our own private cottage, on our own island, miles away from the village. Can't wait to visit again!

SAILING TUAMOTUS – A FRENCH POLYNESIA TRAVEL VIDEO

A fun travel video I filmed while sailing across the Tuamotus atolls in the middle of the Pacific. I was crew aboard a danish sail boat on their journey to Tahiti. French Polynesia was one of the highlights of my ongoing trip around the world. The boat is a Jeanneau Sunkiss47. The video was filmed using the DJI Mavic Pro and a GoPro Hero4.

South Pacific Shark Gallery (Moorea)

The dive instructors or masters or whatever they call themselves, were just awesome on this boat. I got experiences I would never have dreamed about. And everything was just so easy too. They did everything except dump you in the water with all these sharks. But the sharks were really cool too. I recall being at 63 feet under the water and looking up at the sun, and circling the sun over my head were 17 sharks. But they were not menacing in any way. I felt safer there than I ever do in an American city.

I have an image in my head that I hope never goes away, and that is of three sharks that were swimming right at me, as they approached, two went one to one side and the other went to the other side. It was exhilarating!!

Clement I remember at the dive desk, he was so casual about the whole thing, he was like wetsuit, you don't need a wetsuit, and he was right I didn't. That water was so warm I could have stayed in there all day. Then there was David, he gave me a personal escort thru the area where you see the clownfish garden for lack of a better description.

And it is cool stuff, to put it mildly. It's an amazing world, the underwater, everywhere you look is LIFE! Just all over the place. And it moves. And in some areas there were what looked like cobwebs, just like we have in our houses and everywhere else, but you never knew they were under water as well did you? Well they are, as are a lot of other things.

You should try this sometime.
